Great home for a weekend getaway with 25 friends
"Had a great time with 25 friends at the Bear Point House. The house was beautiful and right on the lake as described. There was enough places for people to sleep (airbeds/couches) and enough room for our activities in the house, outside, and on the water. The place is secluded enough from neighbors so we did not have to worry much about noise. Doug was very easy to work with and I got my damaged deposit mailed 3 days after my stay."

"Our family stayed at the sunrise house the week of 4th of July, everything was perfect. The weather was great and the pontoon was great. The house, had all the features of home. Very relaxing! Looking forward of renting it again next year. Mike and Elaine were very accommodating."

"My wife and I hosted our adult children, spouses and all 8 of our grandchildren at this large, wonderful lake home. We have stayed in this area for many years and decided to find a place for our entire family. There was ample room and activities to keep our group of 17 comfortable and happy. The home has every amenity, is well maintained and sparkling clean. The lake is beautiful and we rented the owner's pontoon in addition to the fishing boat we brought so 2 groups could enjoy the water at the same time. The three levels ensure privacy for all, which was especially nice for us with 2 babies that need quiet nap time.
The owners were a pleasure to work with throughout the planning and our stay. We hope to be back many more times."

"Our last few vacations had consisted of schedules and a lot of hustle and bustle. We were looking for a week of relaxation and getting to know each other again. This was perfect. We chose to wake up when ever we felt like it. No schedules to keep. One morning we got up at 5:00 to get an early start on the fishing. It was worth it. We took the pontoon out at least twice a day. Everything in the house was what we expected. We felt at home right away. If you needed groceries or did not feel like cooking one day there are small stores close by or bigger towns that have everything you need. One evening we were coming back from Park Rapids. We were 10 miles out of town and saw a black bear run across the road. We have been to Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming and California and have not yet seen a bear in the wild. We saw plenty of dear, a couple of owls and of course the loons. With the loons it reminded me of the movie On Golden Pond and my son caught a large mouth bass that wasn't quite as big as Walter. My daughter tried to out do him with all the blue gill, crappie and the one bass she caught that was just a little bit smaller than his. We used the charcoal grill multiple times. We had a couple of afternoons where there was rain so we played cards. We used the Skip Bo set and other games that are in the house to pass the time. The house is 15 minutes away from Lake Itasca. We live on the Mississippi River in Iowa so it was neat to go see the headwaters and walk across it. We made sure every evening we took a casual boat ride on the lake just to enjoy the serenity. It was a great way to end each fun filled day. If my family and I ever decide to go back to Minnesota for this type of vacation we will come right back to here."
