  • Awesome winter getaway

"My husband and I, along with our son and DIL, spent the weekend, making memories. There was a forecast for a winter storm but only light snow and cold came. Beautiful view of the lake, sun streamed into east facing wall of windows. Opportunity to go snowshoeing, many photo ops of the beautiful setting. The cabin was very welcoming and fully furnished with everything we needed. Enough room for another couple plus kids. The kitchen was fun to cook in. Appliances were upscale. We enjoyed all of the amenities. The owner was super easy to work with and communication was returned in a quick manner. Look forward to visiting this place in the summer."

  • A Great Week on Boy Lake

"This was our first time using VRBO and boy, did we hit the jackpot! Mike's house is beautiful, furnished and stocked to a T. Mike was very helpful with every request, from fishing tips to where to rent a pontoon for the week. We were a couple in our 60's, our 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. Everyone had more than enough room to stay and things to keep us busy. We fished, swam, canoed, kayaked, read, napped, had an outdoor fire with s'mores and enjoyed every minute of our week up there. The lake is beautiful and very quiet, perfect for kayaking and enjoying the wild life. We saw a family of loons off our dock all week long, and a bald eagle further down the lake. Not to mention deer on the road on the way in. It truly is a wonderful place to enjoy a week of outdoor and family time. Every review for Mike's place is spot on in the great time afforded by this great rental. Thank you Mike, for sharing your beautiful home with us."

  • Great time

"We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The fishing was really great! From crappie to walleye you name it we caught it. The cabin was very roomy. The really great thing that comes with the cabin is the fish cleaning house! We really put that to good use. We have been renting houses for 10 years and this one is one of the best for the buck! We will be returning."

  • Good place to vacation

"Pros: Price, nice large lake with clear water and fish in it, large lake home, keyless entry to home, 2 bathrooms, electric motor plug-ins on the dock, stocked kitchen cupboards and air conditioning, large dining room table which fit 8 comfortably, they let us check-in early and check-out late, they called us back with instructions when we couldn't get the internet working. Cons:They don't list nearly everything you want/need on their website, so you either have to ask ahead of time or pack it anyway and find out they already have it (such as a hair dryer, cooking spices and a blender), no glass recycling - you have to take yours home to recycle it, the fridge leaked water on the floor and the ice-maker did not make ice, I was woken up by a scared, frantic squirrel in the window well who could not get out because the sides are completely metal inside and luckily we had a wildlife biologist and several animal lovers with us who rescued it, along with over 15 frogs and toads who were stuck down there (these window wells should have animal-friendly toppers as it was an obvious animal graveyard with several dead frogs at the bottom --also there were 2 frogs suck between the bedroom screen and window as there are holes in the screens and we had to free those and release them outside too), no boats of any kind at the lake home for guest use including kayak, canoe, paddle boat, row boat, fishing boat or pontoon (I would recommend you call ahead to local marine rental places because most are booked by the time you get there), the prices listed for one marine boat rental listed in the blue booklet in the home are outdated (2012) and not accurate anymore, I would say this home is not totally baby-proofed, so don't bring toddlers or watch out for hanging cords, not always enough silverware for a family of 8, not much of a lakeview from the lake home, the fire pit has no lakeview, you have to be careful to not use the appliances all at once in the kitchen (instructions are in their blue booklet in the home), and 3 of the 4 bedrooms are too small to put the cot in, so if you have to sleep 2 upstairs who don't share a bed, you have to haul the cot up there."
