"Small quaint place with great landlords......... off the beaten trail and not lakeside, but the price was right and the time was great."

  • Great Summer Family Destination

"Our group was 6 adults and 8 children ranging in age from 1.5 to 8. The home accommodated our group perfectly. Three levels of living, fantastic audio visual setup and a very functional kitchen that made large group meals very workable. The owner has a pontoon you can rent at a reasonable rate and a dock that will accommodate another boat if you have your own. Public access is very close and convenient to the home. Unfortunately the weather was unseasonably cool, so we did not get to enjoy the lake for swimming as we had envisioned. The lake is just less than 1200 acres and is quite clear, although not short on weeds. If your goal is to enjoy swimming and water sports make plans to have use of a boat. The home does not have a beach area and has a significant flight of stairs down to the lake. Wabedo is connected to Little Boy, which is another very nice lake. The home has a very nice fire pit, bring collapsible chairs if you plan to make campfires a nightly occurrence. They have nice seats carved out of logs, but not ideal if you like to enjoy a fire for a few hours before bed. Longville is a great small town with a grocery store, gas station, ice cream shop, and Wednesday turtle races which our children loved. Brainerd is less than an hour drive and allowed for a couple of rounds of golf at Deacons Lodge for the dads and a trip to the Spa for the mom’s at Grandview Lodge. Walker is a 40 minute drive, worth a day trip or dinner."
