  • Little Slice of Heaven

"What an incredible week we had at Shore Crest II! Bill and Marge are fantastic hosts -- they met us at arrival and departure and made sure we had everything we needed. This place is so comfortable, spacious and has absolutely every amenity we could have thought of. Special touches like potted flowers throughout the deck and front porch really made it feel like home. The zero-gravity chairs on the deck were a favorite spot to sit with a cup of Joe each morning while watching the hummingbirds feed and the sun rise over Walker Bay. Walker Bay itself is beautiful, serene and has very little boat traffic, which we loved. The private dock, boat lift, sandy beach and fire pit were all utilized and appreciated. Thanks, Marge and Bill -- many memories were made! We sincerely hope to return to Shore Crest II one day!"

  • Great Stay! We'll be back!

"Our group of 4 (and dog) arrived on Saturday and were thrilled with the location. It's just far enough from Walker to feel like you are in the "wilderness". The cabin was clean and had all the amenities of home. The owners have taken care to make sure you have what you need, from linens to games to the basics in the cabinets to cook a nice meal. And a great meal indeed was had, we caught 4 nice Walleye on the lake to pan fry in the cast-iron skillet! There is a trash compactor in the garage which came in handy. It was great to go for nice long walks and spot wildlife as the cabin is off a heavily forested road. We enjoyed the eagle pair that flew by the windows each morning, the loons who visited a few feet from the dock, the porcupine and deer who meandered through in the evenings and of course all the little birds who fed at the feeders. We enjoyed the Lucky Moose and Charlies, and downtown Walker is a few miles away and has a good sized grocery store and several cute shops. Reeds was the place to go for all your fishing gear and licenses. The only issue that I can say we had was with the key that was left not working, but we were able to use the garage door opener to get in and out easily. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and will be back!"

  • Best Vacation EVER

"Our family of 10 just returned from Heart Lake and had the most wonderful vacation ever!!!! The owners have thought of everything and we didn't have a want for anything the entire trip! If you want privacy on a lake, THIS IS THE PROPERTY TO PICK. You can't even see another house from the property.....there must be neighbors as we saw their docks, but you don't hear or see anyone! Complete privacy which we absolutely loved! Heart Lake was the perfect size, small but large enough to do whatever you wanted - with no public access you won't see lots of boats which made it completely serene and private....only boats from other houses on the lake of which there were maybe 12 other homes. At any one time we maybe shared the lake with 2-3 other boaters....and a couple loons! When we were there the water was like glass....the word peaceful just barely describes it. Heaven in Minnesota. Weather was stunning - about 75-79 degrees all week, barely a breeze at all.....perfect for bonfires. Of the 2 fire pits they have - we chose the one overlooking the lake of course! They had firewood all ready to go for us. We had tons of fun on the pontoon and fishing was WONDERFUL. We had a little trouble with the pontoon after our first night and owners came RIGHT AWAY to make sure it was fixed. They were wonderful, down to earth and easy and made us feel at home there! We made two trips to Itasca headwaters - beautiful and something NOT TO MISS. Make sure and take the drive thru the park. They also have a great gift shop if you're looking for souvenirs. Jacque said this was her home, decorated with her family pictures etc, and you can see that it is cared for and clean. We are thankful that she's opened our home to us and we felt at home there..... can't wait to come back! If you are considering other rental vacations stop right now and rent this home on Heart Lake. Everything about this place makes for a perfect vacation and you will not be sorry! Thank you for opening your home for us! We can hardly wait to come back!"
