"We needed to get away and Lloyd's Landing was PERFECT!! So perfect in fact, we decided to squeeze in two more trips before winter sets in. The setting provided us with the peace and tranquility we were seeking. Along with gorgeous sunsets, starlit skis (this really reminded me of WY), the calls of loons, presence of eagles, cool breezes at night, dipping our feet into the warm lake off the dock at night, the FANTASTIC couch glider on the porch...I really could go on and on. The amenities in the cabin were perfect, we looked for nothing that we couldn't find. While our life, as are many others, tends to be hectic and busy, we are hopeful of returning for a longer stay next summer. If you are considering Lloyd's Landing, do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed!"

"It was the perfect getaway to catch up with a long time friend, watch sunsets and relax. It is close to Itasca State Park for day trips, where we enjoyed the hiking trails, the boat tour and eating lunch at Douglas Lodge. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed the porch immensely. Due to a family emergency, we had to cut our vacation short. Vicki was most understanding of our circumstances. She was a delight with whom to work."

"Our last few vacations had consisted of schedules and a lot of hustle and bustle. We were looking for a week of relaxation and getting to know each other again. This was perfect. We chose to wake up when ever we felt like it. No schedules to keep. One morning we got up at 5:00 to get an early start on the fishing. It was worth it. We took the pontoon out at least twice a day. Everything in the house was what we expected. We felt at home right away. If you needed groceries or did not feel like cooking one day there are small stores close by or bigger towns that have everything you need. One evening we were coming back from Park Rapids. We were 10 miles out of town and saw a black bear run across the road. We have been to Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming and California and have not yet seen a bear in the wild. We saw plenty of dear, a couple of owls and of course the loons. With the loons it reminded me of the movie On Golden Pond and my son caught a large mouth bass that wasn't quite as big as Walter. My daughter tried to out do him with all the blue gill, crappie and the one bass she caught that was just a little bit smaller than his. We used the charcoal grill multiple times. We had a couple of afternoons where there was rain so we played cards. We used the Skip Bo set and other games that are in the house to pass the time. The house is 15 minutes away from Lake Itasca. We live on the Mississippi River in Iowa so it was neat to go see the headwaters and walk across it. We made sure every evening we took a casual boat ride on the lake just to enjoy the serenity. It was a great way to end each fun filled day. If my family and I ever decide to go back to Minnesota for this type of vacation we will come right back to here."
