  • Relaxing Family Weekend Getaway

"At the last minute, my family needed a vacation spot and were lucky enough to find Hennepin House. We couldn't have been happier. Far exceeded our expectation. Was very clean, kitchen was well-stocked, even arrived to a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers and fruit. The lake was private and beautiful. We used the canoes, kayak, and floaties provided and just spent some quality family time relaxing and enjoying the lake. Our kids and nieces and nephew (ages 10-15) loved it too, as well as my parents who also joined us. Perfect for a multi-generational weekend! Hope to stay there again and maybe bring my girlfriends for a fall weekend getaway. :)"

  • Great Stay! We'll be back!

"Our group of 4 (and dog) arrived on Saturday and were thrilled with the location. It's just far enough from Walker to feel like you are in the "wilderness". The cabin was clean and had all the amenities of home. The owners have taken care to make sure you have what you need, from linens to games to the basics in the cabinets to cook a nice meal. And a great meal indeed was had, we caught 4 nice Walleye on the lake to pan fry in the cast-iron skillet! There is a trash compactor in the garage which came in handy. It was great to go for nice long walks and spot wildlife as the cabin is off a heavily forested road. We enjoyed the eagle pair that flew by the windows each morning, the loons who visited a few feet from the dock, the porcupine and deer who meandered through in the evenings and of course all the little birds who fed at the feeders. We enjoyed the Lucky Moose and Charlies, and downtown Walker is a few miles away and has a good sized grocery store and several cute shops. Reeds was the place to go for all your fishing gear and licenses. The only issue that I can say we had was with the key that was left not working, but we were able to use the garage door opener to get in and out easily. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and will be back!"

  • Great Accomodations

"Great accommodations - clean, spacious, comfortable, well appointed. The listing is a good representation of the rental unit. Easy drive into Walker for anything you'll need. Dockage is safe and well protected from wind, and waves- no worries about leaving you boat in Horseshoe Bay."

  • Excellent accomodations-Good fishing * Recommended*

"We were delighted to find such a nice, clean house for our family's week long stay. The information and directions from the owner were excellent. The views over the lake were spectacular. Unfortunately, the weather was lousy! cold, windy, just a hint of rain. But the guys went out and fished every day, and we ended with two nice fish suppers. There were even movies and games provided. Our only concern was no vent in the kitchen or bathroom."
