  • Not Quite As Anticipated

"Our party of four found that Kevin and Jane are accomodating hosts who will go out of their way to assist their guests. The cottage is actually part of a bed & breakfast facility, located behind the main house. Breakfast is included for short term cottage guests but those staying for longer periods are charged extra for breakfast, except on weekends. Long term guests are also expected to purchase additional toiletries, paper towels, etc.and clean the cottage before departing. Guests with pets can leave their best friend in their room in a crate if they are staying in the main house; however, well-mannered pets are allowed to remain uncrated in the cottage. There's only a small pet deposit and we appreciated not being charged a rental deposit up front. The breakfasts were to die for but the cottage was not quite what we had anticipated. We had quite a bit of difficulty converting the futon to a bed and vice-versa. And talk about an uncomfortable bed - it couldn't have been much worse! To Kevin's credit, he did say that he and Jane were considering replacing the futon with a sofa bed. The cottage is clean but could use a fresh coat of paint inside. It's just not as beautiful as the photos seem to indicate. The old pickup stored in open view at the end of the driveway right alongside the cottage certainly makes the property look less desirable. Kevin and Jane have lots of printed information about local attractions and restaurants to pass on to guests. We loved the food and service at Sycamore House, a charming restauant nearby. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and our hosts were very gracious. If the futon had been comfortable and the pickup had not been parked alongside the cottage, we would have given the cottage a higher rating."

  • Wonderful!!!

"My family stayed over a weekend and we had the most wonderful time. The owner was easy to work with and answered every question I had. He made our reservation process so easy and clean. The house is perfect and was very clean. It was just as described on the website. Although we brought our own things, there was clothes detergent, shampoo, soaps, lotions, etc available. We were very close to the beach and right in the middle of a shopping district. Everything we needed was within walking distance. I would recommend this rental to anyone!!! I am ready to go back next year already! We enjoyed it so much. My son loved it!!"

  • Husband and wife from Montgomery Alabama

"The first words that comes to mind are AWESOME, Unique, Clean and Relaxation. I surprised my wife by taking her to the loft for her 45th birthday and she just loved it. She fell in love with it. Nestled in the middle of the charming community of Bay St. Louis, the loft is just a couple of blocks away from the beach and just a few miles from a Premium Outlet Mall and several other small and unique shops. One morning we drove to New Orleans for a short visit, but we were glad to get back to the loft to relax and enjoy each others company. The owner Linda Lou is so nice and is full of information concerning Bay St. Louis and the surrounding area. There is a full kitchen just in case you want to go purchase some fresh seafood and stay home and eat. Our favorite place to eat was Cuzs Seafood and Poboys. Be sure to order a Shrimp Poboy and an order of Frickles (fried pickles). Bring some books to read and just get ready to rest, relax and become a part of a neat small town commune. I would recommend staying at the loft and then traveling to New Orleans or Biloxi. You are close enou to enjoy what the larger cities have to offer but can then come back and just relax. Do not miss an opportunity to stay at the loft."

The Advantages of Mississippi Vacation Rentals

For families, staying in one of the lovely Bay Saint Louis waterfront house rentals makes good sense. Just yards from the beautiful sandy beaches and warm gulf waters, it is a natural playground for families. Having your own home base makes it easy to create cheap snacks, drinks and meals, saving a fortune on restaurant dining and hotel drinks. Vacation rental homes offer plenty of space with as many bedrooms as you may require keeping everyone happy in their own space. The freedom to sleep in or go to bed at different times is a big advantage over staying in a hotel suite. You may not have the daily maid service but that is more than outweighed by the advantages of additional space, convenient locations and the lower cost of renting a vacation rental home.

Things to Do Around Bay Saint Louis Vacation Rentals

The Old Town of Bay Saint Louis and the Depot District are two areas which have been restored and offer quaint antique stores, art galleries and delightful places to eat and drink. The 1928 L & N Train Depot is now surrounded by a park and serves as a local landmark. More up-to-date entertainment can be found at Casino Magic. Along the beachfront there is a three-mile boardwalk and biking trail which passes old homes, small shops and fishing piers. Bikes and kayaks are available for rent here.

What to Expect Weather-Wise at Your Mississippi Vacation Rentals
