  • Nice House

"Rating Details: I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was adequately helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Enjoyed our stay; good location; nice, big house with lots of light. Think how perfect it would be if management paid more attention to it's condition, which isn't horrible but could be better."

"The house was very clean when we arrived and Mike was wonderful in showing us around and answering our questions. Our first day, we ate at Darwells and thought it was okay. The second day we went on a fishing charter with Captain Scott Simpson and had a great time, that evening we ate at Steve's Marina Restaurant and thought the food was excellent, the service was a little slow but we didn't mind since the atmosphere and view werevery pleasant. The rest of our stay was rainy, but we still tried to get out and enjoy ourselves. We drove to Bay St Louis, the Serious Bread place was closed because it was Monday, ate lunch at the Blind Tiger and the Mahi tacos were excellent. We also went to New Orleans for a day. The beds in the house are very comfortable, but the train is very loud at night. A recommendation would be to upgrade the TV downstairs. We were going to watch Netflix using our laptap and HDMI cable bit the TV doesn't have a connection. The communication prior to arrival was very informative and helpful. Overall, excellent place to stay when visiting the coast."

  • Great for a Family

"I highly recommend this for families or groups who want separate bedrooms and bathrooms. The alternative to staying in this house is a hotel room: one room, no kitchen, one window, parking somewhere down below wherever you can find it. Instead, for a little bit more per night, we stayed in this three-bedroom house with two bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a carport and a big back yard. The Cozy Cottage is like a home away from home, even stocked with amenities I wouldn't have expected, in case you forgot something at home or have a long stay. I stayed for ten days and the owner was very good with communication and eager to make sure that we had a nice stay. She even emailed us about local festivals that were going on during our stay, which we took advantage of! The backyard is huge and shaded by trees, there's plenty of seating in the living room and in the backyard for entertaining guests. Minor drawbacks are that it's a one-car driveway and there's no backdoor (access to the backyard is through a gate in the fence, next to the carport), but it wasn't a big deal. There are about 9,999 channels on the TV (I'm not exaggerating), and a TV in each bedroom and in the living room. The beach is a 1-2 minute drive away. Every restaurant we went to was absolutely delicious: Harbor View Cafe, Steve's Marina, Rusty Pelican, Pirate's Cove in Pass Christian off Menge and 2nd St, Rickey's in Bay St Louis off Blaize and Hancock St (they both recently opened in their new post-Katrina locations so you might not find the correct addresses on Google maps). We will definitely be staying here again ... if you are reading this, you probably better book it before I do. ;)"
