  • Wonderful

"High Cotton Too was such a nice surprise for us to find so close to home ,I had written one review to say how we enjoyed our stay but it didn't show up. So I am doing it again! My husband and I had a couple of free days and wanted to go some where. We found High Cotton on the internet and was lucky enough to get booked on short notice. We very extremely happy for that! There really doesn't seem to be many cabin available to rent in the area.I have found many hotels, condos, bed breakfast, lake resorts(don't allow pets) The cabin was great with all the wood, quilts and antiques.Just exactly what we like to stay in!Loved the pond between the two houses with the cypress tree and iris! There were several small bridges on the property crossing the pond and a small creek,an arbor covered in blooming wisteria, and a lot of azaleas that we missed by a week or two in blooming.Just a nice place with the landscaping and decks. The trail to the lakes was nice ,wide and well kept. It's obivious from what we saw on our trips to the lakes the place is well taken care of and a lot of thought has gone into and continues to go into it from what Mr.Floyd told us of the renovations being done to the property and what we saw.Just a beautiful lovely, relaxing place to enjoy swimming and fishing away from the crowds. There is a pier, canoe,a paddle boat, table and chairs and a hammock at the first lake. The second lake is a little farther down the way or cut thru the woods save some time. It has a screened in boathouse and pier, a small bridge to explore,a new small cabin and some white geese Mr, Floyd had just added! It really is a perfect getaway for family, couples, small groups that want to just enjoy nature. We definitely plan on returning!"

  • The best Condo we have stayed in, the pictures are correct.

"I was very hesitant about booking this condo in Biloxi, we wanted a change and I am glad my daughter found this on the web. Everything thing that you see in the pictures are true. Our first night the freezer wasn't working, called the office at 5:45, they had a repair man there within an hour, he couldn't fix it so he brought us another fridge, on a Sunday night. Thats what I call service. They checked in the next day to see how it was doing. The office personnel was very pleasing and very helpful. The beds were so comfortable I didn't want to get out in the mornings. The oversized master bath is what you find in high end condos on Orange Beach. I may never go back to Gulf Shores or Orange Beach again. What we paid for 3 nights would have only gotten us 2 nights in Orange Beach. I can't wait to go back during the winter months for a quiet getaway."

  • Great getaway

"Just returned from a weekend in Bay St Louis. Hadn't been here since Katrina. What a revival especially knowing what it was like before the storm. Joey Manieri was great to work with, very accommodating. The house is a duplex with another unit. We had a couple next to us all weekend and barely knew they were there. The house is well done, nice finishes and comfortable with everything you need. The location can't be beat within two blocks of restaurants, shopping and the waterfront. Soon to have a beautiful marina at the end of Main St. The beaches were relaxing and not crowded. Would love to come back soon! Not for children because of proximity to busy street and layout."

Oxford Travel Tips

Oxford Vacation Rentals Are in One of America’s Top 100 Small Towns

The city of Oxford, in Lafayette County, Mississippi was founded in 1835 and is home to "Ole Miss," the University of Mississippi. It is regularly nominated as one of the Best 100 Small Towns in America. The climate here is good all year-round with long somewhat humid summers and short mild winters. Oxford lodging is accessible from Interstate 55 and within an hour’s drive of Memphis with its international airport.

Oxford Vacation Houses Are Ideal for Visiting Many Attractions

The affluent city of Oxford has an interesting history with many attractions commemorating its past. The town square itself dates from 1837 and remains the hub of this small city. Here, visitors to Oxford vacation rentals will enjoy exploring the unique boutiques, stores and even the oldest department store in the South. There are also art galleries, book stores and restaurants.

The LQC Lamar House is a restored three-acre site commemorating the life of this former Supreme Court Judge, who lived here from 1869 to 1888. Visitors can also tour Rowan Oak, the home of the Nobel Prize winning author William Faulkner. Nearby, Faulkner fans will find his final resting place at St. Peter’s Cemetery, along with many other of the city’s notable residents. While here, also visit the University Museum with its fascinating permanent exhibitions of Greek and Roman artifacts, 19th-century scientific equipment and local folk artist Theora Hamblett. Music lovers may also want to investigate the Blues Archive at the university, with an impressive collection of records, movies, photographs and more. Much of the exhibitions are influenced by African American musicians. The Center for the Study of Southern Culture has an excellent display of photography from across the south. The Confederate Cemetery is a small walled garden housing a single monument at its center. This marks the 1862 graves of over 700 Confederate and Union soldiers at the battle of Shiloh. An evening out in the city may include a visit to the Powerhouse Community Arts and Cultural Center where there are a variety of events such as open mic nights, movies, live performances, and more. Dating from 1880, the Walton-Young Historic House is a registered State Landmark and the Historic Burns Church commemorates the original "freedmen’s town" and the role of African Americans in the city’s development.
