"My siblings go somewhere every year for a four day retreat and this year we chose Bay St Louis and the Blue Door. The house was perfect for us and was well stocked with linens and towels. Also, the kitchen was well stocked. I would highly recommend the Blue Door to anyone."Guest: Josephine Adams Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 10, 2014View listing

"This was a great home to make memorable memories for the whole family. There is the view of the bay, the fishing and crabbing pier, the wonderful sunsets, bikes available, board games for all ages, the roomy yard for the little ones to play in, and the front and back screened porches to sit on and enjoy the view. The home is very well equipped with everything we needed and the owners were delightful to meet and very accommodating. We really enjoyed our month there and hope to return again."Guest: Gran Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: November 20, 2014View listing
"We thoroughly loved our stay at Legacy Villas. This was our first beach vacation with our 4 & 6 year olds and they loved it as well. The condo is spacious for a 1 bedroom and is right beside the walk in pool and tot park. You can sit on the balcony and watch your children play in a safe gated entertainment haven. As others have stated, the train blows the whistle at 2:30 and @ 5 am but it never woke our children. Since the beach is across the street, we parked at the front of the complex to save some steps. Took what we needed with us; it was no big deal to walk. Lots of great places to eat (white cap, slap yo mamas BBQ, shaggys, salute Italian etc..) and the mall & Walmart are less than 5 min. away. We did not want to leave and can hardly wait to return. The owner, Paula is such a nice person and we've already contacted her about staying again in march."Guest: Family's a treasure Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 9, 2014View listing
Mississippi Travel Tips
Best Time of Year to Visit Mississippi
Mississippi enjoys a long summer and relatively short winter. This makes it a popular summer vacation destination. While most people still tend to travel during the peak holiday season of July and August, the longer summer season means that you can still enjoy good weather outside of peak season. In the summer months, the temperatures average around 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmest month is traditionally July. During the winter months, the temperatures average 48 degrees Fahrenheit, with the coldest month being January. The northern interior is generally more temperate that the coastal areas. Occasional snowfalls are not uncommon in the central and northern parts; however, it is seldom significant amounts and it usually quickly melts away. Most of the rainfall occurs during the summer months in the form of short-lived but dramatic thunderstorms. The Gulf Coast is particularly prone to hurricanes that blow across the Gulf of Mexico in the late summer and early fall months. The interior of the state usually gets the dregs of the tropical storms which results in heavy rainfall.
Music Legends at Mississippi Condos
Mississippi has a rich cultural heritage. Like its neighboring states, it has a strong music tradition with the signature music style being the Blues. In Clarksdale, you will find the Delta Blues Museum where you can see memorabilia and photographs of some of the great Blues legends. There are also numerous Blues Bars across the state where you can hear your favorite tune. Tupelo, which is in northeast Mississippi, is the birthplace of Elvis Presley. Here, you can tour his childhood home which is a humble two-room house. Next door is a museum which contains many different memorabilia items that detail his life. You can also take a stroll through town and see the fairgrounds where he performed early in his career or the hardware store where he bought his first guitar. For country music fans, you can visit Meridian which is the hometown of Jimmy Rogers. The Jimmy Rogers Museum in town pays tribute to this country music legend.
