  • Minimal But Works!

"I almost didn't book this property……as a traveler I want to feel at home! When I saw the lack of interior decor, I honestly didn't think this was right for me! Since then and getting some input; I found out that this poor Owner has had his share of disruptive renters. Come on folks - this individual is providing you a clean place to make your own for the duration of your stay. Don't neglect or steal - leave the place in the condition it's found. Don't ruin it for others that are looking for a spot to lay their heads. This Owner and his Agent have been more than professional - working on the rate for a Senior - bringing in someone to replace and make repairs when I let him know - responding to e mails within a reasonable amount of time. I only give it a Good because I think the cleaning folks could put a little extra care into scrubbing. We may be traveling; but that doesn't mean we expect anything less that what we do at our own homes. This is our home while we are here and believe it or not most of us depend on folks listings on VRBO! This is a great spot for Golfers and Gamblers. The Ocean is clean. The complex is maintained by the sweetest man 6 days a week! The pool and spa (only one open in Winter) is professionally cared for 3x a week! There is a one car garage to protect your vehicle from the elements. It's secured by a fence around the perimeter and has a gate which requires a code or key card! Other renters in the complex are friendly and responsive to provide information about the area. It is very Dog Friendly (but those of you that can't take a bag that are provided all over the complex) should consider not bringing your dogs if you can't clean up the mess! I think you'd be happy staying here. I will not be back, not because of any of the negatives I may have thrown out there - my goal while I can still travel is to visit as many places as I can before I can't. Thank you for allowing Angel (my crazy barking Min Pin) and I the opportunity to visit."

  • Wonderful!!!

"My family stayed over a weekend and we had the most wonderful time. The owner was easy to work with and answered every question I had. He made our reservation process so easy and clean. The house is perfect and was very clean. It was just as described on the website. Although we brought our own things, there was clothes detergent, shampoo, soaps, lotions, etc available. We were very close to the beach and right in the middle of a shopping district. Everything we needed was within walking distance. I would recommend this rental to anyone!!! I am ready to go back next year already! We enjoyed it so much. My son loved it!!"

  • Awesome Beach Cottage

"We stayed here a few weeks ago for several days for a Beach Get-A-Way. The cottage has charm and is within walking distance to the beach. The back patio and the outside shower was great after spending a long day at the beach. The fenced yard was a must for our black lab. The cottage has two bedrooms with comfortable beds. It is perfect for families with 4-5 people, but could be a bit crowded if more than that. It provided us with a relaxing vacation and we would absolutely stay here again!"

  • Great for a Family

"I highly recommend this for families or groups who want separate bedrooms and bathrooms. The alternative to staying in this house is a hotel room: one room, no kitchen, one window, parking somewhere down below wherever you can find it. Instead, for a little bit more per night, we stayed in this three-bedroom house with two bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a carport and a big back yard. The Cozy Cottage is like a home away from home, even stocked with amenities I wouldn't have expected, in case you forgot something at home or have a long stay. I stayed for ten days and the owner was very good with communication and eager to make sure that we had a nice stay. She even emailed us about local festivals that were going on during our stay, which we took advantage of! The backyard is huge and shaded by trees, there's plenty of seating in the living room and in the backyard for entertaining guests. Minor drawbacks are that it's a one-car driveway and there's no backdoor (access to the backyard is through a gate in the fence, next to the carport), but it wasn't a big deal. There are about 9,999 channels on the TV (I'm not exaggerating), and a TV in each bedroom and in the living room. The beach is a 1-2 minute drive away. Every restaurant we went to was absolutely delicious: Harbor View Cafe, Steve's Marina, Rusty Pelican, Pirate's Cove in Pass Christian off Menge and 2nd St, Rickey's in Bay St Louis off Blaize and Hancock St (they both recently opened in their new post-Katrina locations so you might not find the correct addresses on Google maps). We will definitely be staying here again ... if you are reading this, you probably better book it before I do. ;)"

Mississippi Travel Tips

Best Time of Year to Visit Mississippi

Mississippi enjoys a long summer and relatively short winter. This makes it a popular summer vacation destination. While most people still tend to travel during the peak holiday season of July and August, the longer summer season means that you can still enjoy good weather outside of peak season. In the summer months, the temperatures average around 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmest month is traditionally July. During the winter months, the temperatures average 48 degrees Fahrenheit, with the coldest month being January. The northern interior is generally more temperate that the coastal areas. Occasional snowfalls are not uncommon in the central and northern parts; however, it is seldom significant amounts and it usually quickly melts away. Most of the rainfall occurs during the summer months in the form of short-lived but dramatic thunderstorms. The Gulf Coast is particularly prone to hurricanes that blow across the Gulf of Mexico in the late summer and early fall months. The interior of the state usually gets the dregs of the tropical storms which results in heavy rainfall.

Music Legends at Mississippi Condos

Mississippi has a rich cultural heritage. Like its neighboring states, it has a strong music tradition with the signature music style being the Blues. In Clarksdale, you will find the Delta Blues Museum where you can see memorabilia and photographs of some of the great Blues legends. There are also numerous Blues Bars across the state where you can hear your favorite tune. Tupelo, which is in northeast Mississippi, is the birthplace of Elvis Presley. Here, you can tour his childhood home which is a humble two-room house. Next door is a museum which contains many different memorabilia items that detail his life. You can also take a stroll through town and see the fairgrounds where he performed early in his career or the hardware store where he bought his first guitar. For country music fans, you can visit Meridian which is the hometown of Jimmy Rogers. The Jimmy Rogers Museum in town pays tribute to this country music legend.

Visitors to Mississippi

Mississippi is a state that attracts a diverse range of visitors. Many come to visit the museums attributed to music legends but the state has much more to offer. It has a rich historical heritage with many museums. There are also many excellent golf courses where golfing enthusiasts can enjoy a round. The natural attractions are ideal for outdoor enthusiasts that enjoy hiking, mountain biking or RV-ing.
