  • Crusin the Coast

"Was very pleased as usual with this house. We have stayed for the past 3 years and loved it more each year. Feels like home away from home and Ace is so comfortable we can leave him here and have an evening out alone. Will hate to see it off the VRBO list when it sells but understand it completely."

  • Great place to stay!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We visited Bay St. Louis to meet family we never knew we had. Turned out one of our cousins lived two blocks over from the rental. Lots of room and we had everything we needed. We cooked 3 out of 5 nights we were there. We grilled below while listening to the radio and even attempted to hula hoop. The hoops clearly weren't meant for grown women lol. Our family just really enjoyed our time there. We were close to everything.(casinos, beach, nola, fishing, grocery, most importantly family) Never had to drive far for anything. Thinkin' we should make a trip in the summer where we can really enjoy the beaches. Was a bit cold this trip!"

  • Wonderful property owner---Comfy, spacious, clean….

"We enjoyed this spacious home with our two kids very much. The home was clean and had lots of room to spread out unlike a hotel. The beds were very soft and comfy. The house felt safe and was ideally located around services. We enjoyed bumming around the many beaches and coastal towns. Our deposit was refunded in a short few days and Diane was kind enough to let me know we had left something behind and mailed it along with our refund check. Thanks Diane."

  • Great family or couples getaway on beautiful property

"This is a beautiful and historic piece of a notable local family's property. Our family stayed in the cottage for four days over Labor Day Weekend. We have 2 boys aged 3 and 8. We live in a city so the park-like property with its wide open spaces and beautiful oak trees were the highlight of the trip for our boys. We spent hours playing football and wiffle ball then going on evening frog and toad hunts. An easy stroll down the gravel lane and you are at the beach which we had nearly entirely to ourselves the whole weekend as this stretch of beach is a good bit down from the closest public beaches. The cottage is the perfect size for a family of 4, is very clean, well appointed with everything you need and in great condition. The front porch was perfect for reading a book, enjoying the view and sounds of the acres of land around it and sipping a cup of coffee or glass of wine. The cottage is even well stocked with local books, maps and information on surrounding areas and points of interest. The owners were very accommodating and helpful as well. Historic downtown Long Beach, Pass Christian, Bay St. Louis and Gulfport are all just minutes away as well and worth exploring."

Mississippi Travel Tips

Best Time of Year to Visit Mississippi

Mississippi enjoys a long summer and relatively short winter. This makes it a popular summer vacation destination. While most people still tend to travel during the peak holiday season of July and August, the longer summer season means that you can still enjoy good weather outside of peak season. In the summer months, the temperatures average around 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmest month is traditionally July. During the winter months, the temperatures average 48 degrees Fahrenheit, with the coldest month being January. The northern interior is generally more temperate that the coastal areas. Occasional snowfalls are not uncommon in the central and northern parts; however, it is seldom significant amounts and it usually quickly melts away. Most of the rainfall occurs during the summer months in the form of short-lived but dramatic thunderstorms. The Gulf Coast is particularly prone to hurricanes that blow across the Gulf of Mexico in the late summer and early fall months. The interior of the state usually gets the dregs of the tropical storms which results in heavy rainfall.

Music Legends at Mississippi Condos

Mississippi has a rich cultural heritage. Like its neighboring states, it has a strong music tradition with the signature music style being the Blues. In Clarksdale, you will find the Delta Blues Museum where you can see memorabilia and photographs of some of the great Blues legends. There are also numerous Blues Bars across the state where you can hear your favorite tune. Tupelo, which is in northeast Mississippi, is the birthplace of Elvis Presley. Here, you can tour his childhood home which is a humble two-room house. Next door is a museum which contains many different memorabilia items that detail his life. You can also take a stroll through town and see the fairgrounds where he performed early in his career or the hardware store where he bought his first guitar. For country music fans, you can visit Meridian which is the hometown of Jimmy Rogers. The Jimmy Rogers Museum in town pays tribute to this country music legend.

Visitors to Mississippi

Mississippi is a state that attracts a diverse range of visitors. Many come to visit the museums attributed to music legends but the state has much more to offer. It has a rich historical heritage with many museums. There are also many excellent golf courses where golfing enthusiasts can enjoy a round. The natural attractions are ideal for outdoor enthusiasts that enjoy hiking, mountain biking or RV-ing.
