  • Great cozy unit with a beautiful view of the Gulf

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: No complaints at all. The unit was spacious and cozy with a great view of the coast. The full sized kitchen was the best amenity being that I could prepare and cook my own meals as opposed to eating out everyday. It was located right on I90 and within 1 mile from the nearest mall, Walmart, and other food and retail stores. If you're military, they honor the off-base per diem rate."

  • Brooklyners

"We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful, historic house. Unfortunately - it was a little too cool to enjoy the huge screened in porch - which is almost as big as the house. The location was great - just a block to the sugar white beach. We also enjoyed the great selection of books and videos about the area - and the bikes. The host gave us great recommendations on where to eat. We especially enjoyed Bacchus (wonderful seafood and charming waiters), the Cat Island Cafe and bookstore (beautifully designed, perfect views of the Gulf, friendly staff and great biscuits!) and in nearby Bay St. Louis - the Buttercup Cafe and Brooklyn Pizza (which uses authentic recipes from the Italian enclave of Bensonhurst Brooklyn). In Bay St Louis we highly recommend the Alice Moseley museum - which has works by this politically informed, and humorous primitive painter (think a much hipper Grandma Moses), who lived there for the last 15 years of her long life. The strip shopping center in Bay St Louis where Brooklyn Pizza is located also has a huge and well stocked and well priced grocery store with the unusual name of Froogal (I thing that's how it's spelled!)."

  • Beautiful home in a great location

"This home is beautifully appointed and has everything you need for a great vacation, and more! There are plenty of things to do at the house--loved the swings and ping pong table, as well as the hot tub. We even took a turn around the block on the bicycle built for two! And the kitchen has everything you need if you want to prepare meals there. You don't have far to go to find cute shops and great restaurants. We spent a day plundering the shops in Bay St. Louis (be sure to visit the Serious Bread Bakery for some delicious muffins, scones and baguettes), had a great lunch at 200 North Beach Restaurant and then enjoyed evening cocktails and appetizers on the deck at Shaggy's in the Pass Christian harbor. As this was a girls' weekend/college pal reunion, we also spent a lot of time at the house just relaxing, laughing and sharing time together. Sweet Tea's owner is super easy to work with, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

Mississippi Travel Tips

Best Time of Year to Visit Mississippi

Mississippi enjoys a long summer and relatively short winter. This makes it a popular summer vacation destination. While most people still tend to travel during the peak holiday season of July and August, the longer summer season means that you can still enjoy good weather outside of peak season. In the summer months, the temperatures average around 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmest month is traditionally July. During the winter months, the temperatures average 48 degrees Fahrenheit, with the coldest month being January. The northern interior is generally more temperate that the coastal areas. Occasional snowfalls are not uncommon in the central and northern parts; however, it is seldom significant amounts and it usually quickly melts away. Most of the rainfall occurs during the summer months in the form of short-lived but dramatic thunderstorms. The Gulf Coast is particularly prone to hurricanes that blow across the Gulf of Mexico in the late summer and early fall months. The interior of the state usually gets the dregs of the tropical storms which results in heavy rainfall.

Music Legends at Mississippi Condos

Mississippi has a rich cultural heritage. Like its neighboring states, it has a strong music tradition with the signature music style being the Blues. In Clarksdale, you will find the Delta Blues Museum where you can see memorabilia and photographs of some of the great Blues legends. There are also numerous Blues Bars across the state where you can hear your favorite tune. Tupelo, which is in northeast Mississippi, is the birthplace of Elvis Presley. Here, you can tour his childhood home which is a humble two-room house. Next door is a museum which contains many different memorabilia items that detail his life. You can also take a stroll through town and see the fairgrounds where he performed early in his career or the hardware store where he bought his first guitar. For country music fans, you can visit Meridian which is the hometown of Jimmy Rogers. The Jimmy Rogers Museum in town pays tribute to this country music legend.

Visitors to Mississippi

Mississippi is a state that attracts a diverse range of visitors. Many come to visit the museums attributed to music legends but the state has much more to offer. It has a rich historical heritage with many museums. There are also many excellent golf courses where golfing enthusiasts can enjoy a round. The natural attractions are ideal for outdoor enthusiasts that enjoy hiking, mountain biking or RV-ing.
