  • Perfect Location ! Can't Wait to go back !

"We recently had the Joy of staying in this unit for the Labor Day Holiday and found everything to be above our expectations ! Cathy and her husband were both very helpful. Loved the whole Soulard Area ! We enjoyed all of the choices Soulard had to offer from the Farmers Market, Sweet Divine Cupcakes and many Bars/Restaurants. We were able to walk to most of the places we wanted to visit from here and took a very short shuttle to the ballpark to enjoy the Cubs vs Cardinals game. The place is beautiful and pictures don't do it justice ! Our group of four all agreed we will be back again and look forward to it !"

  • Beautiful place, responsive owner

"It was gray, raining and gloomy during most of our weekend and the view was still spectacular - even with bare winter trees and frost on the deck, the sight of fog rolling along the river was amazing. When the clouds broke our last day, we got fabulous photos of the sunrise reflecting off the water. The interior of the cabin is cozy and comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. Two minor dings - the hot water smelled a bit "rusty" to us and the chain on the gate leading in was covered in mud (again, it was rainy). We purchased a super cheap pair of rubber gloves for dealing with the gate and that worked very well, so you might want to consider that. The owner was gracious and swift with her communication and refunded our security deposit very quickly. We are planning to go again in the spring! (Bonus, lots of wildlife including deer, eagle, what looked like a flock of wild turkeys, an owl and ducks)."

  • A Historic Thanksgiving Trip

"We were two families (each with children 2 and 6) looking for a place to call home for the Thanksgiving Holiday and we were lucky enough to be able to spend it in this beautiful historic home. We especially enjoyed the brief history of the house in the welcome book and the framed Egg Seller certificates in the kitchen. Little touches like that made the time spent there special. The media room on the third floor became a popular spot for the older kids to play and for the adults to unwind at the end of the day. Would love to come back when the weather in nicer and explore more of the area around the house, however, the location was great for getting out and exploring St. Louis via car."

  • A great cottage for a weekend getaway with the girls

"This past weekend (6/5 - 6/9), three friends and I rented this cottage for a girl's weekend. I live in St. Louis but they were all from other states (OH, IA, IN). We had a fabulous time! The cottage is just as cute and charming as can be and the owners took obvious care in making sure the place is well stocked and clean for guests. The yard would be terrific for families with small children since it is fenced. The cottage is just one street off of Main Street in St. Charles. We walked there every day to either shop or take advantage of the restaurants in town. We had breakfast two days at the Bike Shop Cafe (love the iced chai lattes and the belgian waffles) and once at Picasso's (the coffee cake was divine). We also had lunch at the Trailhead Brewery (yummy). The cottage is a great central location because it doesn't take long to get anywhere. We went to the City Museum (what a fabulous time! You have to see it to believe it!), the Lafayette Square House Tours, we did a concert in the park, and went to Wentzville to check out the Renaissance Fair. But back to the cottage. What was so nice about the place, is that at night, when we were tired, it was a great place to return "home" to and it did feel like home. We just sat around and had some drinks and played games one night while taking advantage of some of the snacks and sodas that were also stocked. Thanks for the wonderful weekend!"
