  • Montana's Eagle's Nest

"Our extended family of 9, including 6 adults and 3 children (9,5 & 5), stayed at Eagle's Nest for one week. The house easily accommodated all of us, with room to spare, and was perfect for our family. The house was very clean and had lovely interior decor. There were enough bedrooms to sleep everyone, with very comfortable mattresses. The master bedroom was wonderful, with a large bathroom and jetted tub as well as shower. We had some concerns that there would not be enough bathrooms for 9, but it did not prove to be the case. We never even used the bathroom in the basement. The kitchen was well equipped (although a microwave would have been nice to have) and there was a very nice gas grill outside. We cannot say too much about the 360 degree view from the house -- spectacular. The numerous balconies around the house were wonderful ways to relax and enjoy the vistas. The children enjoyed exploring the area. Although it was a little trek to get there, the view and the house are worth it and getting there was part of the fun. The owners of the home were very friendly, helpful and accommodating and were nearby. Our experience at Eagle's Nest was a very good one and we hope to return sometime in the future."

  • It simply doesn't get any better......

"Perfect! That’s the only way to describe this place. Nancy and Dutch have done everything they can to make this truly a comfortable place to stay. The furnishings, décor and appointments leave nothing to be desired. The quietness of the area spoils you. The views are incredible and the river very accommodating if you are a fly fisherman. We had planned on making several day trips while here but the covered patio, (one of two patios), refused to let us leave the house. If you must leave for groceries or shopping, Florence is just a few minutes away. Plan on seeing lots of wild life with eagles, deer and turkey the norm. We are from Pennsylvania and this was to be the first stop of five fly fishing destinations. Frankly we have become spoiled by this place and are not looking forward to leaving. The only negative comment we have is we have to leave. We can’t wait until next year……………"

  • We loved this place so much!!! Can't wait to come back.

"It is indeed a pleasure to review Stonetower Estate. We just spent four nights there as we attended a horse photography workshop – long days which meant that we didn’t get to spend nearly enough time enjoying this lovely home. That means that a return visit will be in order. The house is beautiful! It’s different, it’s wonderful, it’s quirky (in a good way), it’s elegant and tasteful … and then downright fun and whimsical (like the “tree people”). And one of my favourite features of the house -- the very cool stone bathroom on the ground floor – like showering in a cave (kind of sexy). Very clean and comfortable … everything thought of. The views are spectacular – from the windows and from the deck. The deck is wonderful. You can see the valley and the mountains. Sunrise and sunset are spectacular from this house. The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens, meticulously cared for by the owner. She is gracious and generous in offering you things from her garden. Yes, as a previous reviewer noted, Peggy, the owner does live in the basement. So what? She does so quietly and unobtrusively and she is an absolute delight. She is one of the most interesting people we’ve met in a long time. As well as being a stone mason (she built the house), she is an artist – a potter of note. There are many lovely pieces of her work throughout the house. Having Peggy on site is, in our opinion, a real asset. She is charming and helpful, but is never in the way. The house is out of the way (though not by much), but that only adds to the appeal. Follow your directions carefully – it’s approximately fifteen minutes from Highway 93, a lot of it on dirt roads, and you might find yourself frequently asking “Are you sure …?” But once you arrive, and see the beautiful stone arch, you’ll know that you’ve arrived at a very special place. The peace and serenity of this amazing property are worth the drive. In all, you would be about half an hour from Hamilton, which has all the amenities you would need. The kitchen is well appointed and you can cook some wonderful meals there to be enjoyed in lovely surroundings. And the horses! As others have said, the pictures, although spectacular, don’t begin to do it justice. We travel a fair bit, and stay almost exclusively in VRBOs. We would have to say that this incredible home in its surroundings is right at the top of our list. Can't wait to return!"

  • The house, the river, the views, the area, the stars...AMAZING!!

"We stayed at the Riverhouse for almost two weeks and the pictures do not do it justice. Sitting on the back deck surveying the beautiful scenery is fantastic and listening to the river is the ultimate in relaxing. The house was perfect for our needs and the viewing of the stars at night is breathtaking. While in the area we enjoyed the Hiawatha Bike Trail, ziplining and whitewater rafting at Glacier National Park, Big Hole Battlefield, hiking, swimming at the aquatic center in Hamilton and Painted Rock State Park. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to enjoy home cooked meals. The owner was friendly and helpful in providing information on the property and the surrounding area. My youngest son uses both a wheelchair and walker and having just two steps into the house, a first floor master bedroom and walk out deck made maneuvering around the property fairly easy for him. I would highly recommend this rental property to anyone!!"
