  • Exceeds Expectations

"The house and the setting are beautiful and relaxing. Almost every room has windows that bring the outside into the house. The layout is spacious and intuitively efficient. The appointments and furnishings are lovely and in keeping with the log cabin character of the house. We stayed for 11 nights. Some days we stayed in and just kicked back, and many days we explored the area and hiked on the many trails in the valley. The house has lots of help with books about hikes and trail maps. Although we went out to dinner a few times, more than on other vacations, we cooked because the kitchen was great, and it was just so pleasant to eat at "home." The owner Amy couldn't be nicer or more helpful. She's a wonderful mixture of being available if you need her but never intrusive if you just want to be left alone. Her sheep and goats often come over to the guesthouse property and happily graze on the grass. The goats are a hoot as they try to grab branches on some of the trees by propping themselves up on the trunks. This is one of the loveliest houses we've rented. It's someplace you could actually live and be content. I strongly recommend it."

  • quiet country

"This home offered us exactly what we needed. Space. Seven people from different states converged at the last minute. The home was comfortable and clean with 4 separate bedrooms. The quite country setting made it ideal for drinking coffee outdoors on the porch and the bbq made cooking for a crowd simple. The local agent handling this property went out of her way to accommodate our last minute needs."

  • Montana's Eagle's Nest

"Our extended family of 9, including 6 adults and 3 children (9,5 & 5), stayed at Eagle's Nest for one week. The house easily accommodated all of us, with room to spare, and was perfect for our family. The house was very clean and had lovely interior decor. There were enough bedrooms to sleep everyone, with very comfortable mattresses. The master bedroom was wonderful, with a large bathroom and jetted tub as well as shower. We had some concerns that there would not be enough bathrooms for 9, but it did not prove to be the case. We never even used the bathroom in the basement. The kitchen was well equipped (although a microwave would have been nice to have) and there was a very nice gas grill outside. We cannot say too much about the 360 degree view from the house -- spectacular. The numerous balconies around the house were wonderful ways to relax and enjoy the vistas. The children enjoyed exploring the area. Although it was a little trek to get there, the view and the house are worth it and getting there was part of the fun. The owners of the home were very friendly, helpful and accommodating and were nearby. Our experience at Eagle's Nest was a very good one and we hope to return sometime in the future."

  • Just what we were looking for!

"We recently spent 4 nights at this property, and it was EXACTLY what we were looking for! Fairly remote, peaceful, quiet, close to Conner, Darby, and not too far from Hamilton... And right in the middle of the mountains and forest, with rivers and lakes all around! We found oodles of huckleberries nearby to pick and consume, and my family of 7 (5 kids!) enjoyed all the outdoor opportunities to play and/or relax! This house (2 buildings, actually) gave us lots of sleeping options, and our oldest (teenage) son loved being able to sleep in the room over the garage and away from the house (apart from the house but not too far!). The owners were wonderful to us, helping us on site as well as working hard to mail us some things we accidentally left behind. Very nice to have that, as it's above and beyond the call. Bottom line, we felt at home, and although it isn't a super "plush" place, it's exactly as advertised, which we appreciated. We'd stay here again if we plan a trip this way in the future!"
