  • Trip to Glacier National Park

"We stayed at this lovely home form August 1-8, 2014. The first floor, elevated deck is great. We espeicially liked the view from the master bedroom and the deck off the bedroom. The uncovered windows and sliding glass door to the deck brought in natural light and fresh air-- it was a stunning view to wake up to every morning. The view and atmosphere of fresh air and sunshine felt like we were (deluxe) camping but with all the comforts of home and real bed. My first day back to my real home, I woke up thinking I was going to see the view of mountains when I opened my eyes, as it was still so fresh in my mind. But then i realized I was back home and back to reality, which was difficult. We did alot of traveling and activities in Glacier so we didn't get to enjoy the home as much as we would have liked to, but it was nice to come home to the comforts of a house instead of a hotel room after hiking all day. We also did horseback riding; rafting with dinner through Montana Raft (highly recommend -- dinner was excellent and well worth it. We had the salmon.) There is a lot of driving involved (790 miles in a week!) since the park is so spread out, and this makes for a long day and we got home very late every night. I would recommend getting up early to drive through the park and exploring the east side. You are missing a great deal if you only stay on the west. But would also recommend some relaxation in between hike days. Dont make the mistake of trying to do it all! We rented kayaks and paddle boards at Apgar on MacDonald lake, which was very nice. Would also recommend a tirp to Polebridge (use the park road) to the Northern Lights Saloon for dinner. Awesome dinner (the trout) and a place that takes you back in time. It is an experience and an adventure. Overall, the house was very nice, very clean (which is top priority for me.) We could not figure out why the TV would not come on, but I didn't think we needed TV anyway. So i waited until later in the week to call the owner about it. He kindly came and remedied the situation while we were out and about. And when we got home, the TV was on. Very responsive. Regrets: I wish I had spent more time in the hammock. But I did get to use the swing!"

  • Our Week at Glacier

"We recently spent a week at Glacier National Park. Our family of four (with two teenagers) stayed at the Staggerin' Inn, and it was perfect for us. It was truly a home away from home, & so much better than staying in a hotel. We loved being able to cook our own meals and do laundry, as well as having lots of space and a nice yard to relax in. The location was also great--just a few minutes from the village--and right across the road from the river. We would definitely recommend this property, and if we are ever back in the area, we will try to stay there again."

  • A Perfect Getaway

"We had friends coming from Long Island New York that really wanted to see Glacier Park. We booked with Brian and Laurie and absolutely loved it. The Chalet kitchen is well stocked, it is minutes from Glacier Park, and it is clean and comfortable. What an experience for our friends to go from Long Island to the wilds of the North Fork of the Flathead River with all of the creature comforts of home. We home cooked meals, and although it was raining the nights we were there, we still managed to have a barbecue. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to get off the beaten path and away from the general motel mindset. A big thanks to our hosts and we Will be back."

  • Amazing! Do not hesitate to book this place!

"We stayed at this wonderful place for 4 nights last month and I just wish we could have stayed there longer. The accommodation was far better than we ever hoped for, even better than the pictures show. Very well stocked, loads of towels, toiletries etc and even a good selection of herbs/spices in the kitchen cupboard. Bed was huge!! Tracy, the property manager/chef was a wonderful host and very accommodating. We had sole use of the bistro deck/gardens for 2 nights of our stay as it is closed on Mon/Tues. Tracy put out a grill for us and table/chairs so that we could have our own private bbq. Even saw a doe and fawn come out onto the lawn right in front of us. With regard to the noise from traffic/helicopters/train, this did not bother us at all, in fact I loved the sound of the train sounding its horn - reminded me of Casey Jones!! When the bistro was open we had a meal there which was delicious - chicken with huckleberry sauce - yum yum! Beautiful evening eating out on the balcony whilst the sun set. The lodge is less than a mile away from the West entrance to GNP and in the other direction about 3 miles down the road there is a small town with supermarket/shops/restaurants. As previously mentioned in other reviews we would highly recommend Glacier Grill for a no-nonsense, tasty meal with excellent service. All in all this was THE best place to stay and we would definitely stay there again if we were ever in the area."
