"This cabin was perfect in every way for our family. We have 2 adult children (one married). Plenty of space, comfortable beds, great location."

  • Trip to Glacier National Park

"We stayed at this lovely home form August 1-8, 2014. The first floor, elevated deck is great. We espeicially liked the view from the master bedroom and the deck off the bedroom. The uncovered windows and sliding glass door to the deck brought in natural light and fresh air-- it was a stunning view to wake up to every morning. The view and atmosphere of fresh air and sunshine felt like we were (deluxe) camping but with all the comforts of home and real bed. My first day back to my real home, I woke up thinking I was going to see the view of mountains when I opened my eyes, as it was still so fresh in my mind. But then i realized I was back home and back to reality, which was difficult. We did alot of traveling and activities in Glacier so we didn't get to enjoy the home as much as we would have liked to, but it was nice to come home to the comforts of a house instead of a hotel room after hiking all day. We also did horseback riding; rafting with dinner through Montana Raft (highly recommend -- dinner was excellent and well worth it. We had the salmon.) There is a lot of driving involved (790 miles in a week!) since the park is so spread out, and this makes for a long day and we got home very late every night. I would recommend getting up early to drive through the park and exploring the east side. You are missing a great deal if you only stay on the west. But would also recommend some relaxation in between hike days. Dont make the mistake of trying to do it all! We rented kayaks and paddle boards at Apgar on MacDonald lake, which was very nice. Would also recommend a tirp to Polebridge (use the park road) to the Northern Lights Saloon for dinner. Awesome dinner (the trout) and a place that takes you back in time. It is an experience and an adventure. Overall, the house was very nice, very clean (which is top priority for me.) We could not figure out why the TV would not come on, but I didn't think we needed TV anyway. So i waited until later in the week to call the owner about it. He kindly came and remedied the situation while we were out and about. And when we got home, the TV was on. Very responsive. Regrets: I wish I had spent more time in the hammock. But I did get to use the swing!"

  • Majestic Hideway, after spending the day in Glacier National Park

"My husband and I stayed here when his parents visited us in Emigrant, Montana from NJ. My husband & I (and his parents) traveled from our home in Emigrant, Montana to this lovely getaway home. We had a great time in Glacier and it was very nice to get up in the morning make breakfast & a picnic lunch for the day, fish a little and then head into the park for the day. Upon returning to the house in the evening, it was great to BBQ on the grill and have dinner in the house. We had long days in Glacier and it was very convenient to eat at the house rather than having to go back to the house, shower & change and then go back out to eat again. We all loved the back porch which overlooked the river and we spent evenings out there just listening to the surrounding wilderness and gazing at the stars. The house itself is very well appointed and spacious. The kitchen had everything we need to prepare all our do need to bring your own seasonings and plastic wrap, etc. We brought all of food and supplies with us, living in Montana BUT if you are not from the area an possibly flying in there is a Costco in Kalispell and there are grocery stores in the area of the house that I did see. Beds were very comfortable and bathroom had everything we needed. It was great to be able to do laundry while we were here as well. The combination living room, dining room and kitchen was very spacious and relaxing to come home to after a fun filled day.The listing description & photos were accurate and the property itself was very clean and well taken care of. I would recommend this property to small groups, families, girls getaway week and really anyone looking to get away, see Glacier National Park and enjoy this great state we live in. In addition to Glacier National Park & Fishing; I would NOT miss the Izaak Walton Inn. When our family comes to the area we love to go there for breakfast and eat out on the deck and watch the trains go of America's "hidden" gems. Also, the town of Whitefish is just adorable (lots of pubs, western stores and boutiques) and if your are looking for good food, go to Jersey Boys Pizza, they are the real deal! My husband and I moved to this great state of Montana 10 years ago from NJ and we definitely miss the pizza, so we always hit this place when we are in the area. Also, this region of Montana has the best Huckleberry, we think, so indulge!!!! Lastly, the owner of this property was very personable and truly loves this area."

  • Amazing, relaxing and very much enjoyed by the who

"When we arrived at the Reclusive Moose Bear Cabin, I immediately grabbed my camera and snapped a lot of pictures because of the beauty surrounding the cabin as well as inside of it. Our girls LOVED the loft and played up there for a little bit in the evening. All the amenities were available to us and all that we had to bring was food and ourselves! You can't go wrong when most of the cabin is equipped with everything you could think of and we really got our money's worth staying here! We HIGHLY recommend anyone traveling in the area, going to Glacier National Park or just for relaxation, to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. The property was well maintained, everything was clean and we had absolutely no complaints! We wish we could have stayed longer because, we were taken aback by the serenity and peace. We will be back again soon! Beautiful area!"
