  • Awesome Property!

"This property is gorgeous inside and out! The bedrooms are spacious, each with their own full bathroom. The kitchen is extremely high end with very nice plates, dishes etc... The location is perfect. We walked right to the base lift out our back door and enjoyed the scenic chairlift to the top of the mountain where we had a delicious lunch. Glacier and the town of Whitefish are not far and we enjoyed several day trips from the property. Setting up the stay was easy and Margaret was available for all questions and concerns. I gave this property 4 stars because of the lack of air conditioning(which we were told beforehand by Margaret). Sleeping is on the 3rd floor and temps reached 90's for our entire stay. It did cool down at night but our neighbors had multiple generations of smokers outside our windows at all hours of the day and night and they stayed up late in the hot tub making noise in the wee hours of the morning. If this were winter this place would be a five star hands down! I would still recommend it, maybe we just had a patch of bad luck with the renters next door."

  • Fantastic Loft!

"What an amazing loft! My husband and I had the joy of staying at the Railway Loft to celebrate our 10th wedding Anniversary. The loft is centrally located, allowing all to explore Whitefish to its fullest. Loft is walking distance to great restaurants, fun bars and boutique shopping. It is also a short drive to excellent hiking on Big Mountain. The loft is equipped with all amenities you could possibly need and is excellently decorated. We felt like we were staying in a 5star hotel. Thank you for having us and we can't wait to come back."

  • Beautiful Home

"My family would like to thank you for opening your home. It was exactly as the pictures depicted. It was very clean and welcoming. It truly was the perfect spot for our vacation. It was close to everything and yet still managed to feel secluded. Our "lazy" days spent at the house were quiet with a wonderful view from the deck, a fire in the fire pit and a few visits from the deer. On our busier days, Whitefish Mountain and Glacier Park were an easy drive. Unfortunately, heavy snow kept the Going to the Sun road partially closed, so we hope to make a return visit. When we do, we would love to book your home again. What a gorgeous area! Highly recommend!"

  • Wonderful 1st experience with VRBO

"We just loved this home, it is beautiful, comfortable, has all the amenities and is on Whitefish lake. We had dinner on the deck mostly every evening so that we could enjoy the lake view(and hubby grilled!). It was peaceful and relaxing. We hung around the dock, especially at sunset. We even saw a mother otter feed fish to her 3 little ones on the dock! We hiked in Glacier and Whitefish forests, rented atv's in Coram to explore Hungry Horse dam trails, went horseback riding at Lake McDonald, raft trip out of West Glacier and zip lined at Big Mountain. We had a wonderful vacation and hope to visit again!"

Whitefish Travel Tips

Flathead Valley of Northwest Montana for Total Recreation

Whitefish, Montana sits in Flathead Valley where one can enjoy outdoor sports all year long. Whitefish offers Whitefish Lake which borders the town and runs seven miles to the north. This provides the area with boating, swimming, fishing, and scenic views. Whitefish vacation rentals will allow you to enjoy the views and other activities this town offers. Furthermore, you will also gain privacy, a fully equipped kitchen, and a quaint little town for diversions. During summer events, such as the Lake to Lake Canoe Race and “Olympic Summer Games,” rugby and mountain biking are offered. In winter, it is time to feel the Christmas spirit with the “Christmas Stroll” and “Torchlight Parade.”

A Playground for all Ages Near Whitefish Condos

Whether you visit in the summer or winter, there will always be some form of outdoor fun to be had. Sometimes families do not enjoy the same adventures; for example, some family members might like downhill skiing, while others do not. In Whitefish, this will never be a problem since both forms of skiing are available, among other things like snowmobiling, bicycling, fishing, horseback riding, and much more. If there is a photographer in your group, the scenic views, beautiful mountains, and lakes will be a haven for them. For years, you can remember the vacation and your Whitefish condos through the photographs you take.

Whitewater rafting is a very important pastime in Montana. One has to drive just a half mile from West Glacier near Whitefish to reach a whitewater rafting company. You will be able to tour the Middle and North Forks of Flathead Rivers near Glacier National Park. If that is not enough in the summer, there are plenty of hiking paths to take either on horseback or walking that will show you the amazing area.

Art Exhibits and Galleries of Whitefish and Surrounding Lands

Art is a very important tourism trade in Whitefish. Numerous shops and boutiques running along the streets will feature local artists and their work. Native American photographs, pottery, and more can be found in the galleries. You will not want to leave Montana without some memento of your trip. Many of the designs are either southwestern or western in style. Wood is the main source of materials used for the photo frames, furniture, and even mirrors you can purchase. Art exhibits even extend to two theaters with local troupes. They host a variety of different plays, some locally written while others are more famous in their creations.

Taking Time to Enjoy the Cuisine at Whitefish Lodging

On vacation you might want to get away from it all, even the necessary evil of cooking. Lodges and resorts in the area will supply their own restaurants and there are numerous local establishments as well. While Whitefish lodging can be comfortable, if you want more privacy there are Whitefish vacation rentals in town and on the outskirts of town. These homes are going to have kitchens but you can still explore the variety of cuisine the village has to offer. Some of the local establishments include Blue Bakery and Cafe, The Whitefish Times Coffee House, Trailhead Deli, The Stube and Chuckwagon Grill, and even some Microbreweries.

The Stube and Chuckwagon Grill is one of the local theaters mentioned above. They have a western show which differs from the traditional acting theater. The show offers music, a bit of comedy, and a look at life in the Old West when ranching, cattle drives, and home-cooked meals were essential.

The Past, Present, and Future of Whitefish Vacation Rentals

Montana is not a very populated state due to wide open areas and unforgiving mountain regions. Those who visit Montana fall in love with the scenery and in recent years, Montana has become a place to move or vacation. There is a great deal of history in Whitefish that can be seen near Whitefish vacation rentals and in town. Town buildings are reflective of an early era such as the 1927 Chalet-style of the Great Northern Railway Depot. The house and depot encompass many artifacts from history, as well as facts about the railway. Outside the depot sits the Great Northern Locomotive #181 which is one of seven built.
