Recent Whitefish Lake Area reviews

"Our trip to Whitefish was wonderful in every way. The natural beauty of the area combined with so many other features made it the perfect summer vacation get-a-way. Will is absolutely the most incredibly committed host who went out of his way to make sure our stay was picture perfect. The Tuesday evening Farmer's Market was a great place to sample the artisan bakers and local area crops including those famous Flathead Lake cherries (heaven on a stem) and the equally delicious huckleberries(try the jelly). Head up the mountain to Whitefish Mountain Resort for endless summer activities from Zip Line Tours to gondola rides. With Glacier National Park just an easy 45 minute drive, there was easy access to one of the most beautiful national parks in the country. Be sure to bring your camera and don't miss all the spectacular vista's on the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier. Meander around downtown Whitefish and visit some of the local shops. Finally, the restaurants in Whitefish exceeded our expectations. The Boat Club was the perfect place to view the spectacular sunsets overlooking Whitefish Lake. We can see why the chef at Cafe Kandahar won a James Beard Foundation Best Chef award. We also loved sitting on the outside deck for lunch at the Whitefish Lake Restaurants, grabbing a quick bite at Craggy Range or McKenzie's, an early breakfast at Loula's Cafe. What a great vacation spot made all the more wonderful by a caring and considerate host. Thank you Will."

  • Magnificent ski-in/ski-out condo

"I have rented numerous VRBO properties for ski vacations over the years, but this one is the best I have ever rented. The condo itself is beautifully situated looking out over the mountain. The architectural details are magnificent, with natural log beams and columns, hardwood floors, lots of cozy, comfortable seating, a great kitchen, and a superb hot tub and sauna. It is well equipped, well furnished, private and very very comfortable. We will be returning for another vacation next year and this is our choice of places to stay."

  • Update On Previous Review

"I left a previous review on this property. My wife and I were pleased with the house but not so with the owner. I left the review stating so and why, see below. I just received an email from the owner and from PayPal. I was credited with a partial refund for our troubles. The owner indicated they missed my original email to them concerning the issues with the dirty linens upon our arrival. They apologized profusely and they understood our displeasure with how we found the house. The owner indicated they had to recently hired a new housekeeper and thought all was well. Apparently that did not work out. They just hired a cleaning company to clean the house and our problem should not happen again. My wife and I are satisfied with the owners explanation, it makes sense. The refund was unnecessary but appreciated. I showed the sincerity of the owners' commitment to satisfying their renters. From the owners reply to us concerning the house not being cleaned, I am certain this will not happen again. I would highly recommend this house to anyone interested in staying in the Whitefish area."

  • Perfect for Family

"The front porch and the view over grain fields, with mountains in the distance - that's the glory of this house. I needed 4 bedrooms for grown-up family, and there aren't many houses out there. This one is convenient to the airport, Whitefish, and Kalispell while feeling out in the country. You DO need a car. The house is well equipped, and the owner quickly supplied anything missing. The only drawback was access to the bathroom from the downstairs bedroom required me to walk through the living room and dining room. The second bathroom serves the three bedrooms upstairs. However, my grown-up children spent most evenings on the porch and in the hot-tub, and then were asleep in the mornings. The house, sitting up on the hill, always has a breeze. I recommend this house, and would return here again."
