  • The Best Place on the Mountain!

"This was our second year staying here, and "perfect" is the only description we can come up with. We consist of 2 families which included 5 teenagers. There is plenty of space for everyone, including 2 bedroom suites, so all adults have the best sleeping arrangements. A media room and multiple family rooms for gathering or cozying up with a good book, and the hot tub for after ski aches, provide something for everyone. The kitchen has everything you need, and the mezzanine level has a treadmill and little office setup, which is perfect for keeping up with work needs while the kids are sleeping. Not that you should need a thing, but if you do, Patty and Mike respond immediately, and really care that your stay is the best it can be. Overall all, it feels like home while we are here. And the location just can't be beat. Watch the sun rise as the mountain comes alive, while having morning coffee. Then step into your bindings and be on the lift in less than a minute. Truly the best ski in/ski out location on the mountain! We will definitely be back."

  • Perfect location for us!

"My fiance and I were visiting Whitefish to plan our wedding. We loved this condo. It was perfect for us. Great location. Gave us a nice homey feel. Maybe too homey - we didn't get up one day until noon! But it was wonderful and we'll definitely recommend it to guests who are looking for a place to stay this summer. Or maybe we'll rent it again ourselves!"

  • Quiet retreat in the woods.

"We loved the condo and the area. The condo is at the back of this complex and at the end of the three condo's in the building. It seems like you are in an isolated cabin in the woods. The view out of the deck is forest, and through the trees, there is a bit of sky that reveals that you are up the side of a mountain. Ptarmigan Village is a small complex half way up the road to the Big Mountain Resort. It's like a group of private cabins in the woods. The indoor pool was good. It leads out to a small deck area with a nice hot tub. Unfortunately, the outdoor pool is not maintained. In speaking to a owner of another condo who visits every summer, it seems that the outdoor pool has not been maintained for some time. The condo was very nicely appointed and Natalie was very welcoming. She made sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. We would have liked larger beds as we are tall people, however. We ended up each taking our own bed (three of us) to get a good night's sleep. There is easy accessibility from the condo to the City of Whitefish, Kalispell and Columbia Falls. We could not believe the wealth of recreational activities available to us. Hiking, white water rafting, the Red Bus Tours, fishing charters and lake cruises. We had to choose from many possibilities every day. We particularly enjoyed the Amadeus Festival which takes place every August. It is an excellent classical music festival with nightly concerts and free outdoor performances. We also enjoyed the Flathead County Fair. We were able to attend a profession rodeo and that was a great experience. We very much recommend this condo and would go back there again, anytime. This was one of the best holidays our family has been on! Thanks, Natalie!"

  • Beautiful place!

"My boyfriend and I came to Whitefish for our first time in Sept 2014 for our anniversary and stayed at the Cedar Chalet. We arrived at the cabin and was greeted by the grounds keeper. Don was very friendly and got us all situated in the cabin. The place was absolutely gorgeous, super clean, and had everything we could have needed and more. The location is 2 miles from downtown Whitefish, which was perfect for us as we felt secluded on our own little piece of property. The owner of the chalet was so friendly and very easy to work with. They keep it simple by using cash only for the payment and check in and check out was very easy. The hot tub was definitely a great addition to the place too!! All I can say is that the place was perfect for our Anniversary weekend, we will definitely be back and stay at the Chalet for as long as it's available to us. High HIGHLY recommend this chalet."

Whitefish Travel Tips

Flathead Valley of Northwest Montana for Total Recreation

Whitefish, Montana sits in Flathead Valley where one can enjoy outdoor sports all year long. Whitefish offers Whitefish Lake which borders the town and runs seven miles to the north. This provides the area with boating, swimming, fishing, and scenic views. Whitefish vacation rentals will allow you to enjoy the views and other activities this town offers. Furthermore, you will also gain privacy, a fully equipped kitchen, and a quaint little town for diversions. During summer events, such as the Lake to Lake Canoe Race and “Olympic Summer Games,” rugby and mountain biking are offered. In winter, it is time to feel the Christmas spirit with the “Christmas Stroll” and “Torchlight Parade.”

A Playground for all Ages Near Whitefish Condos

Whether you visit in the summer or winter, there will always be some form of outdoor fun to be had. Sometimes families do not enjoy the same adventures; for example, some family members might like downhill skiing, while others do not. In Whitefish, this will never be a problem since both forms of skiing are available, among other things like snowmobiling, bicycling, fishing, horseback riding, and much more. If there is a photographer in your group, the scenic views, beautiful mountains, and lakes will be a haven for them. For years, you can remember the vacation and your Whitefish condos through the photographs you take.

Whitewater rafting is a very important pastime in Montana. One has to drive just a half mile from West Glacier near Whitefish to reach a whitewater rafting company. You will be able to tour the Middle and North Forks of Flathead Rivers near Glacier National Park. If that is not enough in the summer, there are plenty of hiking paths to take either on horseback or walking that will show you the amazing area.

Art Exhibits and Galleries of Whitefish and Surrounding Lands

Art is a very important tourism trade in Whitefish. Numerous shops and boutiques running along the streets will feature local artists and their work. Native American photographs, pottery, and more can be found in the galleries. You will not want to leave Montana without some memento of your trip. Many of the designs are either southwestern or western in style. Wood is the main source of materials used for the photo frames, furniture, and even mirrors you can purchase. Art exhibits even extend to two theaters with local troupes. They host a variety of different plays, some locally written while others are more famous in their creations.

Taking Time to Enjoy the Cuisine at Whitefish Lodging

On vacation you might want to get away from it all, even the necessary evil of cooking. Lodges and resorts in the area will supply their own restaurants and there are numerous local establishments as well. While Whitefish lodging can be comfortable, if you want more privacy there are Whitefish vacation rentals in town and on the outskirts of town. These homes are going to have kitchens but you can still explore the variety of cuisine the village has to offer. Some of the local establishments include Blue Bakery and Cafe, The Whitefish Times Coffee House, Trailhead Deli, The Stube and Chuckwagon Grill, and even some Microbreweries.

The Stube and Chuckwagon Grill is one of the local theaters mentioned above. They have a western show which differs from the traditional acting theater. The show offers music, a bit of comedy, and a look at life in the Old West when ranching, cattle drives, and home-cooked meals were essential.

The Past, Present, and Future of Whitefish Vacation Rentals

Montana is not a very populated state due to wide open areas and unforgiving mountain regions.
