  • Cozy, Great Kitchen, Beautiful Location!

"10 of my out-of-state family members recently stayed 3 nights in this lovely home. The Victorian ambiance was cozy and clean, the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and dishes, the covered deck off the kitchen was lovely for barbecuing, and the location under Mount Helena was beautiful. Several of our folks loved that they could go for a run or hike, with a trail head a few blocks up the street! The Victorian staircase is lovely and has 4 short flights. It may not be for everyone, but my young niece-in-law, who uses a wheelchair but can walk with some assistance, actually was able to use the stairs because of the low risers in the steps. She also has a licensed service dog and Betty, my owner/contact, was very friendly and hospitable, especially as regards this situation. My family would stay here again for sure!"

  • Exceeded my expectations!

"The VRBO photographs, while captivating, don't begin to capture the true nature of this Montana property. We were lucky enough to stay a month, and we never grew tired of the ever-changing vista to be had out of any window. Luxury blended with the rustic could be found in the smallest details. The house felt like a home immediately. Add in the wealth of wildlife, the blue ribbon fishing, and what you end up with is one of the most perfect spots on earth. The hosts couldn't have been nicer, as were the people at the ranch. Worth every penny--thanks Larry."

  • Wouldn't stay anywhere else! Clean, Cozy, Comfortable

"Wow, The Bunkhouse! What a great place to gather with our friends for a fishing trip. The Bunkhouse was cozy, comfortable, roomy and the funky decorations were really fun. The living room was spacious enough for our bunch to sit around, play music and hang out together. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and the area was quiet and peaceful for a good nights sleep. After fishing all day it was nice to have a full kitchen to cook in and a washer and dryer was a bonus for us! You could almost throw a stone from the Bunkhouse to the Big Hole river that produced, for us, some of the best fishing we have had in years (without having to go to Alaska!). Melrose is a charming little Montana town with it's friendly folks and down home restaurant and bar. We are a bunch of yeah hoo's who have known each other since high school and gather to fish every year. We are going to make this stop a yearly event. The Bunkhouse is IT for us and Melrose is worth the drive. By the way, the Moscow Mules were everything they were cracked up to be and is one of the reasons we decided to return again and again to this charming, memorable little place."
