  • Truly Amazing!! We can't wait to go back!

"My husband and I were lucky enough to get to spend a week here at Elk View Lodge and we had the most remarkable time! This was our first visit to Montana and we can not wait to go back. We drove up from Southern California and stopped along the way to see Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. Both completely worth the trip. When we arrived at Elk View, Steve was there to greet us. He showed us around the lodge and gave us a lot of information about adventures and place to see near by. Elk View Lodge itself was amazing. Very clean and well maintained, very spacious and plenty of room for a large family. The lodge was completely stocked with everything you will need. You will only need to bring your food. The kitchen was also completely stocked with everything from spices to a crock pot! Oh and what a view, spectacular! We visited Virginia City and Nevada City and had fun walking through site seeing and taking pictures. Ennis is the closest town with shopping and plenty of places to eat. West Yellowstone was about a 45 minute drive and was absolutely a must see. We also took a day trip to Jackson Hole Wyoming to see the Grand Tetons. Awesome! The town itself was a wonderful place to visit. Lots of cute boutiques, art museums, shopping and quaint restaurants. This is a place you will want to see. And if you are an angler, then you will be pleased! There are so many lakes, Quake Lake, Cliff and Wade Lakes and Ennis Lake, just to name a few. And of course the Madison river which is just down from the Lodge. These lakes are all beautiful and surprisingly not very busy for the middle of August. One day, Steve was nice enough to drive us up river so we could kayak back down to the lodge. That was so much fun! In the evenings we would sit out on the patio and watch the beautiful sunsets over the Madison River. A couple of nights we saw some incredible thunder and lightning shows. Not something we see to often in Southern California. Montana was truly an amazing place to see and Elk View Lodge is the place you will want to stay. Pam and Steve were awesome hosts and they have thought of everything you might need. The descriptions and the pictures are accurate but really do not do it justice. Your really have to see the place. I would recommend Elk View Lodge to any of my friends and family and we are looking forward to being able to visit again. Thank you Pam and Steve for a truly amazing vacation that we will never forget!"

  • Perfect vacation!

"Bob and Dallas have a beautiful home! Five guys from New Hampshire and Maine headed out for a Montana fishing trip and a great time was had by all. The house was just as advertised and very comfortable for all of us. Ennis is a great town, and thanks to Dallas, we found some great food and fun places for a beer without a lot of trial and error. Most nights though we relaxed around the house and took advantage of the beautiful kitchen and all the amenities. Can't wait for the chance to head their way again! Thanks again Bob and Dallas!"

  • Great house, great location for any vacation

"Come to Ennis! Come to fish, come to hike, come to canoe or kayak. Come to dine well, come to shop, come to soak in hot springs, explore original old West towns or visit Yellowstone. Ennis is ideally located to do it all, and this walk-to-town house is the perfect place to stay. We came to fish. Pull up and there's the Madison River right in front, and a deck that really is the best room in the house, courtesy of the view and the tremendous sense of peace from watching the river roll by. Wade fish if you like. Watch deer slowly meander through the front yard, munching on grass before leisurely swimming over to the wooded area across. Have drinks and dine on the deck, the kitchen is fully stocked and of course there's a grill. The house is charming, clean and comfortable and well maintained, and if the weather isn't cooperating you can still dine with that view; the dining and living areas are framed with large picture windows. Beds are comfortable and windows open, a plus if you prefer to feel a breeze as you fall asleep. The washer and dryer enable you to pack less, yet still have clean clothes. Homes alongside are beautiful but allow privacy; the owners live in one, warm and helpful folks who are there if you need help or advice but otherwise allow you complete privacy to enjoy your stay. If you're very lucky, and we were, Linda might be baking biscotti and share--fantastic!--lasted less than a day! Would we go back? Oh yes, we're already booked for this summer!"

  • Exceeded my expectations!

"The VRBO photographs, while captivating, don't begin to capture the true nature of this Montana property. We were lucky enough to stay a month, and we never grew tired of the ever-changing vista to be had out of any window. Luxury blended with the rustic could be found in the smallest details. The house felt like a home immediately. Add in the wealth of wildlife, the blue ribbon fishing, and what you end up with is one of the most perfect spots on earth. The hosts couldn't have been nicer, as were the people at the ranch. Worth every penny--thanks Larry."
