"This was our first trip to Big Sky and it was absolutely wonderful! The cabin was exceptional - quaint, easily accommodated our party of four, the fireplace was awesome and we were thrilled that there was plenty of firewood. We especially appreciated that the hot tub was emptied and cleaned prior to our arrival - a nice little touch! The ski in/ski out access was fantastic, and although it required a small amount of skating to get to the chair, I'll take this kind of access any day. Future renters should make sure they're OK with skating a small distance as well as handling a fairly steep drop to return to the cabin. The property management folks were very professional, kept us informed as the trip approached and came over to check on us during our first night. The living room TV was excellent - nice HD! Things that could be improved on - cut up some of the firewood into smaller pieces so that it'll be easier to get a fire started, install weather seal/strip around the door coming into the kitchen (there was a strong draft), and make sure the bottom bed in the bunkbed room is fixed (it moved every time another person on the bed moved). But overall, it was an excellent cabin and experience and we'll be back next year."

"My fiance and I just got back from staying at Sourdough lodge and it was an amazing experience!! We knew the house was going to be beautiful from the pictures, but it was above and beyond beautiful in person! We are already planning out next trip back...but with more people so they can experience the wonderful house, trout ponds, and just down the road from Sourdough Canyon trail."

The Schoolhouse - The best place we've ever stayed
"The Homestead Cabin was booked so my girlfriend and I stayed at the Schoolhouse for 3 nights. We've stayed in a lot of cottages, cabins, and hotels in the US and across Europe, and the Schoolhouse turned out to be the best place we have ever stayed in, absolutely, hands down. Sarah has beautifully restored the building and it's done to the highest specification, down to the last detail. The decorations, linens, rugs and furniture were all very tasteful and added to the relaxing atmosphere. The sinks and other fittings were incredibly nice and unique (we especially liked the bathroom sink and the lights over the kitchen), and the bed was huge and so comfortable. The whole cabin was so clean and inviting and cosy; the perfect romantic respite from a day's long hike or the hustle and bustle of Yellowstone. We had a great time stargazing from the porch, with the sound of the creek running close by. Although there are other cabins/houses nearby, it still felt very secluded and private, which was just perfect for our trip. Sarah was a brilliant host; she was helpful, kind and friendly - she made us feel so welcome. We honestly didn't want to leave, and would come back in a heartbeat."

"My husband and I stayed at this lovely property for five nights and deem it to be the best VRBO we've ever experienced. We stepped out of the car and were greeted by four new friends, chickens of all different colors and personalities! Located on 11 peaceful acres of well-maintained grounds, we experienced beautiful sunsets and many delightful places to explore, including the historical cabin, lush lilac bushes and colorful poppies. Located just minutes from Bozeman, there's access to restaurants and shopping as well as many off the beaten path places to hike and explore. Inside the farmhouse, we were greeted by an amazing glimpse into the past life of generations of families and their stories. It's a bit like a museum but with all the modern amenities, making the stay comfortable and relaxing. Cook a meal, grill a steak, or just kick back and sip wine under the shade of the back yard as the Montana sunset fades. Cool nights and sunny days made the home comfortable and pleasant at all hours. It's a great place for a family with lots of room inside and out or for middle age to older couples who want a quiet spot away from it all. Oh, and you won't want to miss the spa experience of the large claw foot tub!
The owners, Marleen and Alice answered all our questions about local places to visit. The provided breakfast of fresh eggs and fruit was wonderful and the two sisters are some of the kindest folks I think we've ever met...so proud of the Farmhouse that is their heritage. We'll be back soon!!!"
