"To perch on the side of the raging Yellowstone River is an experience all its own. The photo here speaks a thousand words - it is as it appears. Our family never tired of watching and listening to the river. Well, we are from the city and places like Yellowstone and this house are exotic. The house was lovely and well appointed. One cautionary tale: although there are two bathrooms, there is only one shower. No one wanted to take the time and effort for a long bath - so all six of us had to schedule a shower time!"

"We had an amazing 2 weeks in beautiful Montana and Meadow Lake Resort! This peaceful escape was just what our family needed, including our four-legged family members, 2 very happy standard poodles! Thank You for allowing pets! We were at home as soon as we walked in the door and enjoyed all of the perks this condo has to offer, hot tub, tv's in each room, comfortable beds and furniture in living room, washer/dryer, garage, Bar-B-Q on deck. The condo is nicely located in the middle of the resort with walking distance to a play park, tennis and volleyball courts, and the recreation centre! A handy grocery store is just a short driving distance away, as well the towns of Whitefish and Kalispell. Columbia Falls has a terrific Water Park if travelling with kids. Thank You for sharing your condo on VRBO and Cathy, a big Thank You as well for promptly responding to my email requests prior and during our stay! We hope to be back!"

  • You Will Want To Return

"We had a wonderful month in this roomy townhouse, provided with high quality comfortable furnishings and tasteful appointments. Large windows and high ceilings allow light to stream into the living area, enhancing the spacious setting. The view of the harbor from the western facing balconies is a perfect place to enjoy wine in the afternoon. The home is very clean and well-maintained. Closets are very large and the kitchen is extremely well-equipped. Likewise, the bedrooms are very roomy. Bathrooms are generously sized, with ample drawers and counter space. The large walk-in showers are equipped with wall and overhead rain fixtures -- the best shower ever! A large upstairs loft with a desk and printer can serve as an office or getaway area to read. A comfortable foldout sofa and privacy screen create another bedroom if needed. An elevator is available to transport items to the main level. The laundry area has ample folding counters and access to the elevator is but a few steps away. This townhouse has everything you need for a comfortable stay away from home. The owner was very easy to work with and provided prompt answers to our questions. We look forward to staying here again."

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.
