  • Another Perfect Stay!

"Stayed here for the 2nd time in as many years. Still think it is the best way to go. House was fully stocked with everything we needed. Love the house and the yard is great to hang out in in the evenings. As another user mentioned the stars are absolutely incredible on a clear night. The beds are very comfortable and everything in the house is in working order. Can’t say enough about being able to get away from the crowds, cook a good dinner and hangout outside after a long day. The owners were super easy to deal with again. They are as friendly and knowledgeable about the area as can be. When going to Glacier I would not consider staying anywhere else."

  • Fisherman's DREAM

"I arrived at the Yellowstone River House and really felt at home. The house was well stocked with all we needed for a week of relaxing and visiting with old friends. The fishing on the Yellowstone was as easy as walking out the door and casting your rod. The hatches of bugs were great (exactly what every fly fisher wants to see). Thanks for a wonderful home away from home. I will be back."

  • July 4th holiday vacation at a beautiful Montana Ranch

"What a beautiful state to visit -- and we couldn't have been happier with our accommodations. We spent 7 days in the Executive Suite -- just the two of us, so the size was perfect, but could have easily handled 6 adults. It was warm, but the air conditioning was wonderful to come home to at night. The photos are very good indicators of exactly what you get -- very well described. Thank you, Gary, for being a very good host and sharing your home with us. We appreciated your suggestions of what to see and do in the area, and your availability and inquiry to if we needed anything. We felt right at home and cooked many of our own meals. The deck and grill were used by us daily. The view of the Beartooth Mountains from the deck -- and the sunsets were just what we needed. Did I mention the fishing was good? And the horses were eating apples and carrots right from our hands by the end of the week. If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet place, Gary's home fits the bill. We already know we want to come back again, and have recommended his place to our family and friends. The parade and rodeo on the 4th of July is great fun too -- the Bull n Bear Bar and Grill has live music, and don't miss the pig races at Bearcreek, and so much to see and do in the Red Lodge area."

  • Immaculate, Private and Quiet

"My wife had outpatient surgery and, her doctor wanted her to be less than 20 minutes from his office the first night in case there were complications (we live in Superior, Mt- about an hour from Missoula). We try to avoid motels, so I started searching for an alternative. My Internet search found the perfect lodging. Owners Mark and Jen were flexible and accommodating. The Trout Bungalow was immaculate, private and quiet. Visitors even have their own carport with a private entrance. My wife, in spite of her discomfort, enjoyed the stay. The cabin has been updated and is nicely decorated with a fishing theme. There is also a wall decorated with classical record album covers from the "good old days." As a music lover, I especially enjoyed this unique touch."

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.
