  • Family Reunion

"We spent our 4th of July holiday/family reunion in The Conductors House. Our week spent there was amazing! The property and views were beautiful and accommodated all 11 of us perfectly. The additional house was ideal for the kids and allowed us adults to relax carefree. The house felt like home and we easily made it our own. None of us wanted to leave and we are already talking about our next trip. Linda, thank you for opening your home (not sure I could if it was mine) and all the little extras (the kids loved the smores and next time we come back we will replace the ice cream). Coffee on the back porch with the deer strolling by and sunsets to die for...I will never forget the time we spent. Next time I'm bringing my telescope."

  • Family reunion

"We rented this house along with the large property across the road for a family reunion and it all worked great for us. We didn't spend a lot of time at this house, mostly used it for sleeping and a little extra food prep/storage. Just a couple notes - the description says there are 2 airbeds, but we could only find one. The air-conditioning is just a small window unit in the kitchen. Nights are usually cool, so not a problem, but the upstairs can get a little warm. There are somewhat limited kitchen items, but it was no problem for us since we were using the lower property, too. We would definitely rent both properties again!"

  • A perfect play to stay!

"We spent 2 nights at the yurt as part of a week in Montana. It was definitely a highlight of our trip. The yurt is beautifully decorated with incredible attention to detail. We loved enjoying coffee on the porch with incredible views of the lake and birds, including eagles and ospreys, all around us. I can't speak highly enough about the gourmet breakfasts Michele prepared- delicious, creative and beautifully presented. We also loved kayaking on the lake and the view from the pier. All in all, it was a wonderful, beautiful and relaxing visit and we highly recommend that everyone stay here if they have the chance."

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.

Visitors to Montana Cabins

If you love getting away to cabin rentals, Montana has your number: the state attracts those who like wide open spaces, nature and the outdoors. It is the ideal adventure playground in all seasons for those that enjoy an active vacation. In the winter months, many people are attracted to the many excellent ski resorts. It is also a great family vacation destination, especially if you want to instill in your children an appreciation for nature and the outdoors. You can choose your summertime adventure depending on your interests. Most people like to head out on the various hiking trails. Others like to explore on horseback or mountain bikes. There are also strong western traditions with rodeos and shows taking place throughout the season.

Seasons to Visit Montana

There are two favorite seasons for booking Montana vacation homes, depending on your interests. The summer months are generally the most popular for those who want to participate in outdoor activities and wildlife viewing. It is also the ideal time of year to explore some of the cultural and historic attractions. The peak season in summertime is during July. The second most popular travel season coincides with the annual snowfalls. The ski season starts in December and, if the weather conditions are good, can last until April. The peak ski season is during December and January.
