  • A week of hiking

"Three hikers from the Washington DC region came to hike the Glacier Park area. The rental we stayed in was excellent, could not have found a better place. Very comfortable especially after a day of hiking. The owners were especially helpful with recommendations."

  • Fall wildlife vacation

"We stayed in the small cabin and it was perfect for us. There were 2 of us but the cabin also had two beds in the loft. The cabin has a fully furnished kitchen which we did not use as there was a restaurant across the road. Best of all was that the cabin was clean. It would be hard to get any closer to the Park entrance. We will return."

  • Super nice!

"Moose Tracks was such a beautiful, relaxing vacation home! The view of the mountains was absolutely gorgeous, and we had a great time hiking and seeing all the sights at Yellowstone. We got some great pictures! :) The home is so clean and nice and it made out stay even better! Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home.""

  • BEYOND EXPECTATIONS!!! BE PREPARED TO BE WOWED

"Our group of 7 friends recently stayed here for the family day long weekend as we were skiing. It was actually one of two last possible available places to rent and I'm so glad we chose this cabin. When we arrived, the keys were available right away with no waiting time, the house was very clean, and all info was laid out on the kitchen counter with wifi passwords and what to do with garbage when we're done. It made things a lot easier during our stay with that level of communication. Everything worked well. The fireplace worked, the hot tub was not warm... but hot!! Which was a bonus for us on a colder night. The bbq and all kitchen appliances worked well too. I've read other reviews prior to our stay and chose to ignore the negative reviews. Some mentioned there wasnt' enough dishes but we washed them as we went along. There were plenty of pots and pans to use to cook for a group of 7. Plenty of seating in the upstairs and downstairs living rooms. I stayed in the master suite and there was a ton of pressure with the showerhead. Make sure you bring your own shampoo and conditioner though. They do provide some nice soap bars and plenty of towels. The view: the view was spectacular with the mountains in the background and the pond in front. The hot tub gave us clear un-obstructed views of the stars and moon. I was a happy camper having coffee out on the deck in the morning. Renters: this is a must rent! I would totally book this place again. There was a tiny water leak with the 20 yr old water tank towards the last day of our stay but they got it fixed the very next day as we left. We got our full damage deposit back because we respected to place and treated it like it was home for us - at least for that weekend. The property manager - she was excellent in answering our questions and getting back to us right away. I liked dealing with her a lot. Overall - we give this a 6 out of 5 stars!!!"

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.
