  • Montana grandeur

"What a special place on the lake. The views from the main deck were spectacular. This log home is absolutely beautiful. The accommodations were great and the owners were very gracious. All in our party had such a good time, none of us wanted to leave. We look forward to our next visit to Watersong!"

  • Amazing! Perfect in every way!

"This was a wonderful place to stay. Fit our family very comfortably in a beautiful cabin right on the yellowstone river. The house was amazing with a perfect location for everything we wanted (white water rafting, zip lining, horse back riding, Yellowstone Park, hiking, and hot springs!) We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone seeking a MT adventure!"

  • Great Place

"This condo was great for us. We traveled from MN to bring our son to college at MSU. The kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed to make meals. The condo is located near campus which was great for us. We stayed 6 nights. We felt very safe in the neighborhood and it was nice and quiet. Mary is extremely helpful and kind. The Bozeman community makes you feel like your at home. We will be going back and renting from Mary again."

  • Look no Further, this Place Rocks

"Once again this cabin far exceeded our expectations. It is our 2nd stay in 3 years. It was super clean and had everything we needed. The new bathroom upstairs was an excellent addition and the entire cabin is better than the photos could show. This is exactly how I would build a cabin in these mountains. The inside makes you feel so comfortable and welcome. Everything worked perfectly - the gas fireplace, the WiFi, the many channels on TV, the laundry machines and all of the kitchen appliances. The location is excellent. My wife and I fly fished and had excellent luck in the Soda Butte Creek inside the park within minutes from the cabin. We have been to the Yellowstone area 4 times now near most every entrance and this is by far the best choice for location. It is known as the quiet entrance. Yet, everything you need is either a walk away or if you would like to shop or grab a brew, 3 miles away up in Cooke City."

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.

Seasons to Visit Montana

The summer months are generally the most popular for those who want to participate in outdoor activities and wildlife viewing. It is also the ideal time of year to explore some of the cultural and historic attractions. The peak season in summertime is during July. The second most popular travel season coincides with the annual snowfalls. The ski season starts in December and, if the weather conditions are good, can last until April.
