  • Best House In Big Sky!!

"My family, friends and I traveled to Big Sky for the 5th time in March. After a stressful let down on a prior rented home suited for 13 on the mountain, we were fortunate enough to find this home available. Our group was large and the owner had both this home as well as their 2nd home in the area Elk Crossing available and worked us in. We have stayed on the mountain (ski in/out) we have stayed up the mountain, but never down on the river. We have found our Home Away from Home!! The place was simply amazing. We had a 10 minute drive up the mountain to ski, yet only a 5 minute drive to the best restaurants in the area. Every morning we awoke to Elk and White Tail Deer in our back yard. We fished from the river yards away from the house and enjoyed grilling on the fabulous grill off the deck. These owners have thought of every detail. Beautifully decorated, nicely stocked and easily accessible have made this a True Big Sky Experience. Thank you Patti and Robert for sharing your home with us. Look forward to spending all of our ski vacations at Moose Landing. Best Regards - Kelly Johnston and Family. Side note - though we did not stay at Elk Crossing, our friends did. That home is equally wonderful. I recommend either."

  • Fly Fishing

"We had a group of nine guys in the home for three days for a fly fishing trip. The home was great, and well laid out for a group of this size. The house sleeps 12, however if everyone wants a separate bed, 8 is a better number. Great location with a lot of privacy. A few stores for last minute necessities are located within a mile of the home."

  • California girls

"My sister & I had a lovely week vacation visiting family & friends and this house couldn't have been more perfect. Location was spot on as it is so close to everything including our family! Amenities were nice, the house was spotless [far cleaner than my own :)] and Marni was the best, so helpful & easy to contact. I've stayed in many VRBOs & this tops the list! We hope to make it our home away from home when we visit Kalispell."

  • Great House in a Ideal Location

"Our family of 4 stayed at the Timber frame house in East Glacier during the 3rd week of August. The house is ideally located in East Glacier where you can walk (or bike) to the East Glacier Lodge or just walk a few hundred feet to one of several nice eateries. The house sits up against a green belt and has a very nice private outdoor patio with a new grill and outdoor furniture. It was great to come back to the place after a day in the park and be able to relax outside. The house is great for 4 people. All of the beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is very well appointed. The cabinets are stuffed with basic items (spices, olive oil, salad dressing etc). I would highly recommend this place. Location is excellent. Very clean and well kept!"

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.
