  • The Clayton House

"Four "Gal Pals" were lucky enough to rent the Clayton House. We have been friends for many years, three from Ca. and one from Idaho. The home exceeded our expectations and the location was perfect. The owners had all the supplies we needed and the home is well equipped. The remodeling the owners did is remarkable. Our stay could not have been better. Thanks so much to the owners for allowing us to rent this perfect home."

  • Great family getaway outside Whitefish

"We just got back from an amazing week at this property. Our only complaint was that we couldn't stay another week (or two). After our very urban kids got used to the hunting trophies, they settled right in and were all sad to have to leave. Ky was a welcoming host full of helpful information (and was able to give the 2 younger kids in our group a riding lesson) but left us to enjoy the solitude and natural beauty on our own. Location is a relatively quick drive 8 or so miles northwest of town--close enough for grocery store/beer runs and dinners out but remote enough to really feel like you are enjoying great outdoors that city people like us come to Montana to experience."

  • A True Gem.

"This beautiful cabin was the perfect place for a 6 night stay on our honeymoon. The furniture is artfully done and the amenities are hard to beat. We shared quiet mornings with coffee on the deck and hiked to the top of the hill on Ed and Diane's property for a wonderful view. The kitchen and supplies are well kept and the full sized refrigerator and pantry space make the cabin feel like your home away from home. Ed and Diane were incredibly kind and we encourage you to walk down the hill to meet them! We asked for advice about the area on our first night at the cabin, which helped guide our adventures. They are extremely knowledgeable about the area and their level of hospitality is hard to beat!"

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.
