  • Great space for relaxation

"Quiet, relaxing cabin and convenient to YNP and Gardiner. Beautiful views and cabin as pictured. Watched elk and ospreys each morning out front and antelope along the gravel road leading into the cabin. Owner responsive to communications. All in all a relaxing spot to return to after a day in the park and surrounding area. Will recommend to friends and family."

  • Great location and wonderful accommodation

"We found this garage apartment perfect. It was in a great neighborhood with a lot of character. Downtown was a short walk. The apartment was very sunny and very clean and a wonderful host too."

  • Perfect place for a large wedding group

"This home and Scott the owner were extremely accommodating for our 16 person group. We're all here for a wedding, all in our 20s and everybody had a blast! There were more than enough beds, we brought airbeds and didn't have to use them! More than enough pillows and sheets too. The kitchen is fantastic, tons of utensils and everything we could have needed for our big breakfasts. The lake is a short walk, with the orchard and some sheep in between, we all thought the walk was really enjoyable, no complaints! If for some reason walking isn't your thing you can drive down to the lake too. WIFI, deck, BBQ, tons of beds & plates and everything you need, more than enough showers, Scott the owner was around and very helpful."

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.

Visitors to Montana Cabins

If you love getting away to cabin rentals, Montana has your number: the state attracts those who like wide open spaces, nature and the outdoors. It is the ideal adventure playground in all seasons for those that enjoy an active vacation. In the winter months, many people are attracted to the many excellent ski resorts. It is also a great family vacation destination, especially if you want to instill in your children an appreciation for nature and the outdoors. You can choose your summertime adventure depending on your interests. Most people like to head out on the various hiking trails. Others like to explore on horseback or mountain bikes. There are also strong western traditions with rodeos and shows taking place throughout the season.

Seasons to Visit Montana

There are two favorite seasons for booking Montana vacation homes, depending on your interests. The summer months are generally the most popular for those who want to participate in outdoor activities and wildlife viewing. It is also the ideal time of year to explore some of the cultural and historic attractions. The peak season in summertime is during July. The second most popular travel season coincides with the annual snowfalls. The ski season starts in December and, if the weather conditions are good, can last until April.
