  • A Month in Paradise!

"Spending a month in this idyllic spot was all and more than we had hoped for. Family and friends joined us over the time and even as native Montanans were stunned by the beauty, the hospitality and the proximity to so many beautiful places. Ben, Julie and family saw to our every need and helped us with suggestions and fresh produce! We were fortunate to experience the local Amish community and were just minutes away from everywhere we wanted to be! This month really allowed us to return to a simple, unstressful lifestyle. The beauty of the Mission Mountain valley is unsurpassed and you can be assured of a wonderful experience at Foothill Farm. We can't say enough about our hosts as well. Consider a month if at all possible!!!!"

  • Cabin Stay

"The stay in the cabin was the best vacation ever!!! We did a lot in the area, swinging bridge (great), the town of Libby is a must see, put on your walking shoes and bring your cameras. Make sure to go to Noxon bridge to watch the bald eagles; WHILE YOU DO SOME GOOD FISHING. I would recommend the Hereferd Restaurant the food was Great; you must visit the Amish deli up the road they make the best sandwiches and homemade goodies. I'm going to rate the house from 1 to 10; (10 being best). 1) very clean (10) 2) caretaker GREAT (10) 3) check in easy (10) 4) owner (10) 5) supplies (8) needs more pots and pans and baking pans for visitors that want to cook in. 6) recommend (10) Thank you, Dave And Trish"

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.

Visitors to Montana Cabins

If you love getting away to cabin rentals, Montana has your number: the state attracts those who like wide open spaces, nature and the outdoors. It is the ideal adventure playground in all seasons for those that enjoy an active vacation. In the winter months, many people are attracted to the many excellent ski resorts. It is also a great family vacation destination, especially if you want to instill in your children an appreciation for nature and the outdoors. You can choose your summertime adventure depending on your interests. Most people like to head out on the various hiking trails. Others like to explore on horseback or mountain bikes. There are also strong western traditions with rodeos and shows taking place throughout the season.

Seasons to Visit Montana

There are two favorite seasons for booking Montana vacation homes, depending on your interests. The summer months are generally the most popular for those who want to participate in outdoor activities and wildlife viewing. It is also the ideal time of year to explore some of the cultural and historic attractions. The peak season in summertime is during July. The second most popular travel season coincides with the annual snowfalls. The ski season starts in December and, if the weather conditions are good, can last until April.
