  • A week of hiking

"Three hikers from the Washington DC region came to hike the Glacier Park area. The rental we stayed in was excellent, could not have found a better place. Very comfortable especially after a day of hiking. The owners were especially helpful with recommendations."

  • cottage stay

"Everything was very nice......EXCEPT for the never ending train passes with horn blowing. Need earplugs. The cabin is very comfortable. We just did not sleep very well. We were visiting family in the area."

  • Just want to go back soon!

"Beautiful, wonderful! Far from all the noise of society, a good detox from the world! The surrounding nature is breathtaking. The deer neighbors are very cute! The cabin is very comfortable, spacious and pleasant. It was the perfect vacation. Thanks so much!"

  • Great place to stay

"This was well worth the money. There was plenty of room for my wife and I and my two son's and their families, ten of us in all. The house was clean and kept up. The house was located so that we didn't have to drive long distances either way to get to all the sites we wanted to see. Working with Mary Wallace the owner was great, I would for sure recommend this property to everyone."

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.
