  • Great Cabin

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 5-night stay at this cabin in February 2014. It is an excellent choice for a ski vacation at Big Sky, and is in a good location for ski in/ski out. The rooms are well laid out and spacious. The cabin is very well furnished, charming and comfortable with all of the necessary conveniences. The cabin was accurately described and reflected in the write-up and photos on the VRBO website. The owner was very helpful and responsive to all of our inquiries. We highly recommend this cabin."

  • Family Reunion

"The description & photos are accurate in the listing for this rental home, except for the fact that the location is even more scenic & relaxing in person. The property has everything you need & the owner was able to greet us & tell us about the place. It's close to Lakeside & Polson where there are markets, shopping, boat rentals & a museum. We had a wonderful time & would definitely recommend this place & would stay here again."

  • New Yorkers

"This was our first trip to Montana, and it was spectacular! The cabin was just as beautiful as the view. The cabin was set up perfectly with everything we needed for our stay. When we walked in the door there was music playing, and soft lighting- nice touch! With so many places to visit, we don't usually go to the same place twice, but we might have to make an exception here. Trust me- you'll love it!"

  • A getaway like no other!

"My family and I stayed here over Thanksgiving and it is a trip we will not soon forget! Dennis was incredibly helpful and generous from the moment we booked our reservation with him. We stayed during a very cold time of year and Dennis made certain everything was taken care of from the inviting temperature of the home upon our arrival to sending out the housekeeper to help us work the master bedroom fireplace. The home is lovely and feels comfortable to be in. It felt as though I was staying in the home of a good friend. The comfortable, lived-in quality of the home did not leave me with the sterile sensation of other vacation rentals I have stayed in. The quality of the amenities are first rate. The craftsmanship used to build this home is seen in every detail including the solid wood doors, beautiful hardwood floors, and most of all the incredible view of the lake and mountains. My family has already decided that this is a place we must come back to in the summer. You will not be disappointed by this home!"

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.
