  • Amazing!

"We had our "destination-style" wedding at Shadowood Lodge this past September. From the minute you walk in, you will be taken away by the decor, lovely details and cozy feel. This lodge has everything you could ever want. From the beautiful bar, to the comfy beds, you won't want to leave. If your a cook, you will fall in love with that beautiful kitchen! We couldn't be more happy with how accomidating Tutti was and how perfect our wedding turned out. The huge deck on the back was ideal for our dance party! I couldn't recommend this lodge enough! And working with Tutti was such a delight. She is a wonderful personality who is easy to work with, willing to lend a hand when needed and provided all the accommodations we could ever ask for. We will definitely be staying there again, very soon! Thanks, Tutti and Hollis! We adore you and your home!!"

  • Lake McDonald Cabin

"This Cabin couldn't be more perfect. The view out the front window was awesome - picture perfect. The cabin was clean, incredibly stocked, and just amazing. The location was perfect and walking distance for ice cream! I would HIGHLY recommend this cabin to all. I understand why families come back to this location for years and years. I hope we can also!"

  • Amazing Place to Stay!

"We were a group of 8 people who visited Glacier National Park over Labor day weekend. I was tasked to find an affordable, yet large enough place to accommodate all of us. Fortunately, I stumbled upon this listing and am so glad that I did. The house is huge with a very spacious living room. It was a perfect home away from home, and each one of us had a very memorable experience. Well within the vicinity of West Glacier, the location provides perfect blend of solitude and easy access. The owner was super helpful in providing all the directions to the house. I highly recommend renting this property out, and am sure to revisit this place again."

  • Fabulous cozy retreat on Flathead Lake

"My husband and I rented this fabulous little cabin for a week in August, 2014. The owners were fabulous to work with and the cabin was neat, cozy, clean, & private which is just what we were seeking. Owner Melanie was friendly and very concerned with our having a fabulous time (we didn't get to meet her husband, Joe). The kitchen was functional and quite well equipped and we spent hours on the beach, dock, and covered porch overlooking the lake. The bathroom was really nice and the bed cozy with a window overlooking the lake. It was a bit on the chilly side for the time of year we were there and we even had a fire one night in the wood burning stove (wood supplied by rental owners). We brought our 2 mini doxies & border collie and they also had a fabulous time and got to meet the owners sweet German Shepherd, Matador. The cabin is kind of slightly off the beaten path, and the area was great for walking the dogs and enjoying all Montana has to offer. A short day trip and we drove the "road to the sun" highway in Glacier Park, explored Lakeville and a couple of the other towns (we mostly ate in at our cabin, but there are some fabulous restaurants in Lakeville, too). We hope to come back and stay in this cabin again in the next few years! Thanks, Melanie & Joe!"

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.

Visitors to Montana Cabins

If you love getting away to cabin rentals, Montana has your number: the state attracts those who like wide open spaces, nature and the outdoors. It is the ideal adventure playground in all seasons for those that enjoy an active vacation. In the winter months, many people are attracted to the many excellent ski resorts. It is also a great family vacation destination, especially if you want to instill in your children an appreciation for nature and the outdoors. You can choose your summertime adventure depending on your interests. Most people like to head out on the various hiking trails. Others like to explore on horseback or mountain bikes. There are also strong western traditions with rodeos and shows taking place throughout the season.

Seasons to Visit Montana

There are two favorite seasons for booking Montana vacation homes, depending on your interests. The summer months are generally the most popular for those who want to participate in outdoor activities and wildlife viewing. It is also the ideal time of year to explore some of the cultural and historic attractions. The peak season in summertime is during July. The second most popular travel season coincides with the annual snowfalls. The ski season starts in December and, if the weather conditions are good, can last until April. The peak ski season is during December and January.
