  • Great Place

"My family and I just spent the Thanksgiving Holiday in this awesome Beaverhead Condo. This condo was well stocked with everything and was like home away from home. Even better. There was plenty of room for everything and we had a wonderful holiday at Big Sky. We will definitely keep this condo on our list when we return for more family weekends. The owner kept in contact with us promptly and was extremely helpful in answering any questions that we had. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful condo with us. Our gang from Great Falls, Montana."

  • Relaxing Getaway

"We spent a week at this great riverfront home and enjoyed every minute. The neighboring houses were empty so we felt like we had the outdoors to ourselves. The outdoor firepit is enormous and there was plenty of firewood available. The river is clean and calm and the views of the mountains are beautiful. The house is clean, well-stocked, and modern but not fussy. We thought we might miss television and internet, but who wants to be inside when the weather is nice? Late nights we used the projection TV to watch a movie and it was awesome. The house is just a mile or so from downtown Seeley Lake which has a few shops and restaurants and a nice grocery store. I highly recommend dinner at Lindy's Steak House! If you are bringing a boat, check with the owners about the bridge height and width restriction if you plan to boat upstream to Seeley Lake. We had a ski boat that fit under the bridge, but a pontoon might not. This was one of the nicest houses we have rented through VRBO."

  • I would highly recommend this home

"We stayed at the Cliff Haven home for almost a week. It was convenient for fishing many of the large rivers in the area. The kitchen has everything you could need. The house is large and easily accommodates 6 people. The beds are comfortable. Views are tremendous. One of our favorite things about the house was the openness to the outdoors. Picture windows everywhere, even for viewing the stars at night in the Master Bedroom. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!"

  • Ideal retreat for Yellowstone vacation

"The condo was even better than expected - so comfortable and absolutely beautiful. Hot tub was heated and ready for us which made a great place to relax our over-hiked muscles a couple late evenings. We drove 1 hour to Yellowstone National Park most days - one hour easy and scenic drive to the West Yellowstone entrance. Hiked the Beehive Basin 6 mile trail in Big Sky the last day - which was beautiful and well worth it. Ate delicious pizza at Andiamo at about 10 pm one night and great Thai food at Lotus Pad Thai - small restaurant, sat on deck with sweatshirts. Would definitely stay here again."

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.

Seasons to Visit Montana

There are two favorite seasons for booking Montana vacation homes, depending on your interests. The summer months are generally the most popular for those who want to participate in outdoor activities and wildlife viewing. It is also the ideal time of year to explore some of the cultural and historic attractions. The peak season in summertime is during July. The second most popular travel season coincides with the annual snowfalls. The ski season starts in December and, if the weather conditions are good, can last until April.
