  • Great view to wake up and drink your morning coffee.

"We had a wonderful 8 day stay here in the beginning of August. The cabin was very comfortable and spacious for 5 adults. Everything was very clean and had plenty of hot water! We went in to Yellowstone Park every day with our lunches packed, so it was very convenient to stop and pick up groceries in Gardiner on our way back home in the evening. It made a great home base for us to eek out every minute of daylight in the park which made for a wonderful vacation. The only down side was that I had to ask a few times for the welcome package to be sent to me and it has been 4 weeks since we left and I am still waiting for my deposit to be refunded. Other than that I would recommend this cabin."

  • Riverside Wonderland

"To perch on the side of the raging Yellowstone River is an experience all its own. The photo here speaks a thousand words - it is as it appears. Our family never tired of watching and listening to the river. Well, we are from the city and places like Yellowstone and this house are exotic. The house was lovely and well appointed. One cautionary tale: although there are two bathrooms, there is only one shower. No one wanted to take the time and effort for a long bath - so all six of us had to schedule a shower time!"

  • Spectacular home!

"We recently spent five days at Mission Ranch Lodge and could have stayed many more. Six adults with much more room than we needed. The home is immaculate and beautifully decorated. Such a comfortable home, gorgeous kitchen with everything you could possibly want. The view out the back is amazing. The creek on the side of the house is beautiful. We had whitetail deer visit every morning and evening. The house is located in a beautiful area with lots to do. Only an hour away from the north entrance to Yellowstone, a few minutes to the quaint towns of Livingston and Big Timber. Rich, the ranch manager, gave us a very informative tour. Darcy, one of the owners, was amazing to work with...always very reachable and so pleasant. I would highly recommend this property."

  • Absolutely Perfect!

"This cabin was exactly as described. I was in Missoula for the marathon and decided to make it a week long vacation. This cabin was secluded offering privacy, peace and quiet, and breathtaking views. I truly enjoyed spending the evening on the front porch with a glass of wine and a good book. The owners are super knowledgable and very quick to respond. I highly recommend! Thanks for an awesome trip."

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.
