  • Great Place to Stay

"2 adults and 2 - 9 year old girls spent a week in August at Whiskey Cabin and it was exactly as pictured. Only suggestion is get larger fry pans. Bacon & eggs for 4 is a challenge with the skillets on hand. We travelled to Yellowstone several days and also found plenty to do in the town of West Yellowstone. The Grizzly & Wolf centre is well worth a full day with the kids, lots to learn. And the rodeo show just outside of town was worth the trip."

"Our family can't say enough good about our stay at Saddle Ridge. The home was beautiful and had everything we needed. The scenery from every window and door was spectacular! We hiked two different gorgeous trails right in the area, we enjoyed a day at Yellowstone, we relaxed, and we loved it all!"

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.
