  • New Year at the Cabin

"This house was perfect for the needs of our family (3 adults and 2 kids)! The chalet is walking distance from the slopes (via a trail, it took us about 6 minutes to go down); we had rent a locker at the ski resort so that was very convenient. We enjoyed seeing the slopes from the kitchen (and the hot tub- what a delight after a day of ski !). We really liked the decoration of the chalet, each room having its own specific decoration. The kitchen is very well equipped and it was a pleasure to cook. Our children also found great games to play with. And all of us loved the fireplace. The ski resort is very friendly, the child ski center is great. We definitely recommend this house!"

  • Family Vacation

"This was our first experience with VRBO and it was an amazing experience. The house was clean and met all of our expectations! The view is beautiful. Everywhere we wanted to go was close. This was a perfect family get-away in a quiet neighborhood, close to the Lake, close to shopping. The owner is so wonderful and available for questions. If we were to come to this area of Lake Tahoe again we would definitely stay here again!"

  • Tahoe Ski Vacation

"Everything good: Nice location, warm, comfortable, roomy. Good location if you want to ski both Heavenly Valley and Northstar. Owners were very responsive and easy to work with. I recommend doing an inventory before shopping for supplies. I didn't, and purchased a lot of things other renters had purchased and left, so now there's at least a year's supply of several items. The king-sized bed in the master suite is as hard as stated in a previous review. I'd like to meet the person who sold that mattress to the owners: he/she must be one heck of a good salesman. Not a big deal for me because I was alone; I just slept in one of the other beds. The house definitely needs a media/entertainment upgrade. If you must have HDTV, stereo, etc., you had better supply your own. I don't need that, but I needed internet service and the owners made arrangements for me to get it. All-in-all, a very nice place."

  • Wow! Great Mountain Retreat at a Reasonable Price.

"This charming Chalet is an excellent find located in a great location. Away from tourists and traffic, the Chalet is in a quaint village of similar styled mountain homes with a Swiss theme. Surrounded by tall pine trees and with nearby mountain views, you have your privacy and quiet... but can reach restaurants and shops in a short drive. The Chalet is well maintained with modern fixtures in both bathrooms and the kitchen. Wi-Fi and cable worked flawlessly. The full-sized washer and dryer came in handy after consecutive days of outdoor activities. The kitchen is fully equipped including a programmable coffee maker (waiting when you wake up!) and everything you need to prepare all three meals, including containers to store your leftovers. Highlights include the easy-to-operate gas fire place in the main living area and the grill on the deck. At nighttime, I enjoyed standing on the outdoor deck and looking up at the mountains: you can see the groomers hard at work in the distance at the nearby ski resort, and there was a full moon for two of the nights here. If visiting during the winter months, I recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle: the roads are cleared and well-maintained daily, but can become challenging during snow storms particularly in the drive up-hill into the village. I highly recommend this rental!"
