"I often think back on our great stay at this wonderful lake-side estate. We traveled with another couple and anticipated really enjoying the Lake Tahoe area as neither of us had been there for over 20 years. However, our plans were sidetracked once we got to the house. We ended up lazy on the deck, reading, cocktails, coffee, lunch, well you get the picture. Our big ideas of driving around the lake, going out to a beautiful dinner on the lake (why? when we had the best table of all right here), renting a boat at the nearby marina, kayaking, hiking, well, none of it took place. We never wanted to leave the stunning ambiance. We did venture to the close by supermarket as we enjoyed making our meals in the beautiful new island granite kitchen (which was a surprise to see, as the old kitchen is in the online pictures), where we all cooked and chatted and looked out over the lake. Maybe when we return, and we certainly will, we will see a little bit more of the area. But now we know it will be hard to tear ourselves away from this estate on the lake. Sara was so gracious and always available by text if we had a question. Thank you Sara and Randy for allowing us to enjoy your home and hospitality."

"We stayed in this home with a large group of friends and coworkers over Thanksgiving. Overall, we had a very good time and enjoyed our stay. For the value, this is a great home to stay in and I would recommend it.
Pros: The home is a beautiful log cabin that looks much better than the photos here on VRBO, so use your imagination when looking at the photos. I was very impressed when I finally stepped inside : ) Large and fantastic hot tub that works very well and has a nice ambiance in the trees. Lots of bunk beds for single travelers (we did not have many couples in our group so it worked well), so I would recommend the home for larger groups of friends. The large living room did not feel cramped with our large group. You can walk <10 minutes down to the beach, or head up the road to incredible lake views. Casinos and bars are a short drive away, as well as beautiful hiking trails. the home is stocked with lots of towels, lotion, and soap for your use. The home is dog friendly, which is hard to come by and ideal for our group with two dogs. Also, maintenance was done quickly when we reported an issue with the toilet, which was pleasantly surprising over a holiday.
Cons: The lighting in the home could be improved. There are stairs up to the master and stairs down to the bunk rooms, which was fine for us, but may not be ideal for very young children. The floor in the master bedroom upstairs creaks very loudly whenever you walk up there, so whoever sleeps in the main room bedroom will hear every footstep. The dining room table was a bit too small for a large group at Thanksgiving. The dryer is also quite old and takes a long, long time to dry anything."

"We have rented VRBO's for over 25 years and this is our favorite one of all! Being just steps away from a private beach and water rentals too, minutes away from South Lake Tahoe and most activities was just perfect! There were 8 of us adults and each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. The boys loved the pool table and the kitchen was so well stocked, we could have fed so many people. We enjoyed a gondola ride up to Heavenly and then the treetops ropes course, Emerald Bay and the Vikingsholm, hike around Lily Lake and area, and hike to Skunk Harbor. Lake Tahoe and area is just breathtaking and there is so much to do there. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!"

"We vacation in the same neighborhood every year and love the area. This year we decided to stay at the Bear Den property because we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and wanted to stay at a truly beautiful place that had something for everyone. Starting with the house itself: lots of room to spread out, decorated to create a very warm relaxing feeling, the kitchen was well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The beds were comfortable. The backyard was amazing. After spending the day at the lake it was perfect to sit outside on the back deck to enjoy playing cards, sitting in the hot tub and making s'mores while sitting around the fire pit. Of course breakfast and dinner were enjoyed outside on the large picnic table. Afternoon naps were taken out on the patio on the large comfy couch. Once parked, you really do not need to get back in your car. The lake and Zephyr Cove Resort are both a couple of minutes walk from the house."
