  • It's really more like 4 1/2 stars

"If it wasn't for the fact that the fan in the master bedroom was not working and there wasn't extra toilet or kitchen paper on hand, this would have definitely been 5 stars. Regardless of the fan or paper, I will definitely be looking to stay here again - hopefully soon. This place had everything you could possibly need for the getaway. With a perfectly convenient distance from everything else that is Vegas. Word to the wise - Bring your bath suit, bring your sun block, and keep a DD on hand (everyone has at least one health-crazed non-drinking friend they could invite). Cab ride to the strip was about $35.00."

  • Great Stay

"We had a wonderful experience in this unit at the Grand Sierra Resort. The unit is clean and comfortable, the butler's pantry is nice to have, the refrigerator is a good size and was very quiet at night. The unit is on the 19th floor and the views are excellent, especially at dawn and dusk. A nice surprise was the elevators -- with express elevators to the 17th floor and higher, it was almost like having our own elevator, usually with very little wait. The resort itself has everything you could want under one roof. And dealing with Ken and Tracy was a real pleasure, everything went very smoothly. All in all, a great experience."

  • Home away from home

"We stayed here for 3 months, January thru March 2013 to be near small grandchildren and to enjoy the mild winters in Las Vegas. It was also great to enjoy the accommodations here at this golf course home at Silverstone. It was perfectly located in a very private, secure gated subdivision near our family and very convenient to all the entertainment Las Vegas is famous for. This property is very clean, with a great eat in kitchen for casual meals and has a more formal dining area for those special times. This is not a cramped condo type property, rather it has the feel of home. The sweeping views of the golf course and snow capped distant mountains from the master suite and living room are spectacular! The owner is very gracious, responsive, and is local. We highly recommend it for short or longer stays and yes, we would rent here again."

  • Far Western Qualifier Girls Volleyball Team

"This home was perfect for our volleyball team traveling to play in the Far Western Qualifier at the Reno Convention Center. It was convenient to shopping, malls, the convention center and downtown Reno. The view from the house is very peaceful and the path around the Marina was a nice run! Did not get the chance to enjoy the sailboat but it is located directly in front of the house for those there in the summer! The owner made it convenient for us to arrive and depart and we would definitely look at this location again for a vacation rental."

Nevada Travel Tips

Activities and Attractions at Nevada Luxury Home Rentals

If it's the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip that attract you to Nevada, you won't be disappointed. The many hotels, entertainment centers and casinos have a reputation for fun and excitement. Try your luck at the table or slot machines. You can also take in a show or see a live performance of your favorite artist. From Las Vegas vacation rentals, a great day excursion is to drive to the Hoover Dam. This impressive structure is one of the highest dam walls ever built. The hydro-electric system at the dam provides electricity to more than 20 million people in Las Vegas and Southern California. Other interesting sites nearby are Red Rock Canyon which has great rock climbing routes.

If you are visiting during the winter months, you may be surprised to know that there is a ski resort within an hour's drive of Las Vegas. Mount Charleston has some excellent downhill ski runs and snowboarding trails. Perhaps the better known region for skiing is the far northwest in the area surrounding Lake Tahoe. There are several top ski resorts that together have miles of cross country and downhill skiing trails. In the summertime, outdoor adventurers can explore the many hiking trails in the region. On the southern lakeshore, there are several casinos and resorts where you can try your luck. In the more rural parts of Nevada, there are miles of back roads exploring interesting landscapes. There are also numerous areas with biking and hiking trails to explore.

Best Time of Year to Visit Nevada Lodging

Even though Nevada has four distinct seasons, it is a year-round vacation destination. The summer months are hot and great for water sports and sightseeing. Outdoor activities can also be enjoyed as long as you are cautious of the midday heat. In the spring and autumn seasons, the temperatures are a little milder without being too cold. This is actually the ideal time of year to hit the trails. In the winter months, you can head to the ski slopes of Lake Tahoe or Mount Charleston. Naturally, in the casino cities of Reno and Nevada, there are no off seasons. Entertainment and fun happens all year.

Fun for Everyone in Nevada

Nevada is a state that has something for everyone. City slickers can enjoy the bright lights and casinos in Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe. Nature lovers can enjoy exploring the many nature trails and back roads. In the winter months, many skiing enthusiasts come to Nevada to enjoy the world-class skiing offered at the various resorts.
