  • Outstanding home

"Great home, tough access for my Mom or Mother In Law, but they got used to the trunk of the car! LOL Really, this home would be fantastic for a young family. It was clean and modern, and had everything you needed. We were lucky enough to have great weather all week so the kids (all 20 years and older) Kayaked, fished, and swam. Plenty of room for all of us to eat together, and the screened in porch was perfect for those late night games!"

  • Magical place

"We recently spend two months living in Ailsa's lovely farmhouse. It truly is a magical place, filled with family love and mementos that make it feel more like you're visiting than renting. The living room has windows on three sides which allows for ample sunlight and views. The sunsets were fabulous and we enjoyed sitting in the yard, listening to the frogs. Our dog was quite intrigued by the cows -- who returned the interest. Watching their meanderings around the property was always entertaining. Kitchen was fully equipped and we grilled almost every evening. Farmer's market on Sundays in Canaan. With traffic (on Rtes 4 and 120), getting to Dartmouth College main campus could take at least half an hour. But there were nice back routes for stress-free driving. All in all, a wonderful stay that we will always remember."

  • Family Christmas Celebration

"Our widely disbursed family gathered in this wonderful house for a week to celebrate Christmas and a two month old addition to the family. The setting was picture postcard perfect with snow already on the ground, supplemented the day after Christmas by an additional four inches. The kitchen was a joy to use for our "foodie" family (although I'd like to suggest labels in the drawers and on the shelves to better locate and return utensils etc.) and we spent many hours catching up around the blazing fireplace. The children had fun with the ping pong table and foosball and of course they loved the skiing on Mount Sunapee (as did some of the adults). The beds were comfortable, the house was clean and the views were stunning and despite a slight hiccup with a frozen water pipe interrupting supply to the house (which we managed to have rectified in reasonable time), we all agreed that this had been the perfect setting for a wonderful family Christmas reunion."

  • This Cottage Has It All!

"This was one of our most restful vacations and it all had to do with the wonderful setting of this cottage. Although I'm not sure calling this a cottage gives the correct impression. This is a fully equipped home with everything you need to have a great time. From the large grill on the deck to the night lite in the bathroom there is nothing the owners haven’t thought of or provided. When you rent a vacation property online you can only hope the pictures you've seen are accurate. No worries with this cottage, not only were the pictures completely accurate they cannot convey its calm and peaceful setting. This cottage has a grassy yard with adirondack chairs, a great dock, canoe and a place to enter the water to take a swim. Since we were there to relax from our very hectic lifestyle our daily routine was taking out a float, swimming, reading, canoeing, and fishing. We fished from dock where we actually caught a couple of big mouth bass. No need to say mine was the largest. The location is also great if you're want to be more adventurous as you're right in the center of Mt. Sunapee, hiking trails and lake Sunapee. We did venture out to New London and Newport and did shopping and antiquing. We had dinner at The Flying Goose and breakfast at the Country Kitchen both were great. I would recommend this home to couples who just need a quiet place to relax or those who are more active and want to enjoy biking, hiking, kayaking, fishing, swimming and more. This home is great for couples or families of any age and any lifestyle, we will definitely be back."
