"My husband and I and our two children have been renting this vacation home in the summer for the past three years. The best part of this home is that we can walk to the beach and boat rental on Eastman lake within a few minutes. There are also extensive hiking trails within easy walking distance. The condo is cozy, clean, and well stocked with cooking essentials. We love this place and plan to return next year."

"My family had a lovely time in Canaan this summer. My children picked apples, berries and herbs on the property, biked in the driveway, and enjoyed checking out the resident groundhog and cows. The spacious house is well loved and the bathrooms are recently updated. Ailsa responded quickly to any concerns and questions. We greatly enjoyed nearby attractions: we swam at Canaan Street Lake every day, hiked Cardigan Mt three times and enjoyed the local farmers markets and farms. Hanover is only 30 minutes away with King Arthur Baking Co., the magnificent Montshire Science Museum, high quality grocery stores, and plenty of restaurants."

"The house is very nice and I would recommend it to others looking for a quiet vacation away. I went up with 5 friends all in their 20s and 30s and we had a great time. The only drawback for us was that the waterfront access to the pond from the house is not great for swimming. The water was not very clear and the pond floor was very mucky. We did take kayaks out and also tried the state beach on lake sunapee (10 min away) and had a great time. The house itself was great"

"My husband and I stayed in this charming farmhouse for Presidents' Day weekend with our three-year-old and one-year-old girls, and we had a wonderful time. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking, as well as plenty of spices and condiments. The house's floor plan accommodated our family perfectly: we used the two downstairs bedrooms and put the baby's travel crib in the passageway between the living room and master bedroom. One thing I'd note to families with small kids is that there isn't a bathtub; but our girls did fine with a big bowl and some wash cloths in the shower. The setting is idyllic, with views eastward across the lake in one direction and westward over a big pasture in the other direction. We had frigid temps and loads of snow while we were there, but we were still able to play outside a bit, using the sleds stored in the barn on the quiet dead-end road that the house sits at the end of. We also enjoyed a little time at the local branch of the town library, where the librarian was nice enough to let us borrow a few DVDs. It was the perfect "country getaway" that we'd been looking for!"
