  • Best Sunsets

"The location is fantastic and the charm of the old house will captivate you. The sunsets are spectacular! Pros: property fits the description provided, nice and responsive home owner, great location, large living room, large dinning room, character of an older home, very clean, well equipped kitchen, friendly neighbors, great sunsets, nice deck overlooking the water that gets sun from sunrise to sunset, nice and responsive property manager, swimming, boating, local attractions are near by, not too far to grocery store, lake front property is fantastic, nice screened porch over looking lake as well as deck on the lake, back patio, wonderful breeze coming off lake cools the house in summer, lake water was warm in August. The house is perfect for 6 people. Cons: if you are looking for luxury, this house is not for you. It is an older home with no dishwasher, no air conditioning (you won't need it with the wind off the lake) and no washer and dryer- but don't let that deter you, the house is clean, has character and is in a great location. If you have very small children you just need to be aware of the road between the house and the water (it's not busy) and that you need to go to the public beach if you're looking for sand and/or walk-in access. The house is great for kids over age 6 or so. Parking is limited at the house (3 cars max) but you can have guests park in another area only a short walk away. I would rent here again in a heartbeat. It was the most relaxed I have been in a long time."

  • Beautiful studio near sunapee mountain

"We had a lovely stay here. Brett and Cindi were great hosts and had great suggestions for the area. The studio was very close to Sunapee, which made it perfect for a ski getaway. The room has a nice little kitchenette and was very private."

  • Dartmouth Graduation

"What a wonderful home to spend five days while celebrating and attending our son's graduation from Dartmouth College. The +200 year house has all the charm and rustic qualities you would expect in a house of this age but with all the modern conveniences we all like and expect. The property and views are amazing, whether you're sitting out back at dusk watching the deer graze in the pasture or taking a walk along the Connecticut river, you'll never tire of the beauty of your surroundings. The owner Jordan was helpful and responsive throughout the entire experience. I would highly recommend this house."

  • Cozy country retreat

"My husband and I stayed in this charming farmhouse for Presidents' Day weekend with our three-year-old and one-year-old girls, and we had a wonderful time. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking, as well as plenty of spices and condiments. The house's floor plan accommodated our family perfectly: we used the two downstairs bedrooms and put the baby's travel crib in the passageway between the living room and master bedroom. One thing I'd note to families with small kids is that there isn't a bathtub; but our girls did fine with a big bowl and some wash cloths in the shower. The setting is idyllic, with views eastward across the lake in one direction and westward over a big pasture in the other direction. We had frigid temps and loads of snow while we were there, but we were still able to play outside a bit, using the sleds stored in the barn on the quiet dead-end road that the house sits at the end of. We also enjoyed a little time at the local branch of the town library, where the librarian was nice enough to let us borrow a few DVDs. It was the perfect "country getaway" that we'd been looking for!"
