"We spent a wonderful long weekend family gathering and had a great time. The Lake is beautiful, the house was exactly as described, clean, comfy and everything we could possibly need. Debbie and Mark were great hosts. They met us upon arrival, gave us a tour, and let us know that they were available if we needed anything; then they left us to enjoy ourselves in beautiful Camp Westwood. We had fun with the paddleboat, the rowboat, and the fishing poles- Mark even stopped by and gave us some helpful tips that resulted in catching quite a few fish right off the end of the dock! We had cookouts and enjoyed watching a mama duck with her nine ducklings. We were never at a loss for entertainment..... I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay on the Lake in a place with some history and personality and have a classic New Hampshire Lake experience!"

"We have been coming to the Lake Winnipesaukee area for may years. We have never found a lake house that checked all our boxes! Until this year! Bob and Donna's lake house was so comfortable for our family. The view is fabulous. We loved that it had a level yard and grass to play games. The way the house faces is perfect, sun when you want it and shade when you don't! Crystal clean water and the water trampoline was an added bonus for all. Other than the kitchen being dated and the carpet in the bedrooms (carpet was clean I just don't like carpet!) the house was perfect! Very spacious living area and dining area and the most comfortable beds we ever slept on! The cottage was a bonus for my grown children and the outdoor shower was refreshing. The kids loved the ping pong table and had a great time hanging out in the evenings around the fire pit. Bob and Donna were very accommodating and we hope to get the chance to return next summer!!"

"My husband, 3 yo son and I had a wonderful week at Stillwater. The cabin is lovely, cozy and in an excellent location. It was one of the cleanest and best-equipped vacation rentals that we've encountered. You can tell that the owners regularly vacation here from all of the many small conveniences in the cabin. Beds were comfortable, good water pressure, wonderfully equipped kitchen (angel food cake pan, micro plane grater, etc!). Fire pit in beautiful location by shore, hummingbird feeder that was visited daily, birdhouse with nesting swallows, lots of board games, etc.
We were uncertain about the river location beforehand but ended up finding it delightful. It was quieter than the lake and only a ten minute paddle to Little Squam. Ashland and Holderness were very quick to drive to (under 5 min) and nice towns with a range of restaurants. We loved Inn Kitchen + Bar at Squam Lake Inn. Holderness has a nice public library and a good coffee place.
This was a great rental for young kids. There is a swing on the property, the dock is a fun hangout, the property is big with enough land for running around, kayaking and canoe launching was very quick and easy. Nearby, Ashland beach is great for kids, Natural Science Center is right in Holderness, easy (and awesome!) West Rattlesnake hike was close (five finger point trail was also nice for kids), my son will most remember the awesome Cog Train an hour away and the Winnepesaukee Scenic Railroad in Meredith. The bedroom upstairs has 4 twins one of which is a trundle. One consideration, the upstairs bedroom does have an open indoor 'window' to the stairwell and so is not as sound and light isolated, though this was not a problem. For parents of toddlers, dead bolts on both outside doors are placed about 5 feet high, giving peace of mind so close to the water.
[Hannaford grocery stores in Meredith and Plymouth had excellent selection of gluten-free and vegan products for other diet-restricted folks.]
Thanks to the owners for such a wonderful week! We'll be back if only to sit on the screened porch and watch the hummingbirds :-)"
