  • Great vacation home!

"My family, and extended family rented this home in mid-summer. It is definitely not a cottage. The home was lovely and well decorated - the bathrooms felt like you were staying at a 5-star resort. Everything was there for us - from big fluffy towels, board games for the family, life jackets, and it did not lack for anything in the kitchen. We rented a pontoon boat, and it was extremely easy to park it in this quiet cove. The kids ( and adults) loved the water trampoline and kayaks. The decks overlooking the lake were used from early morning to late at night - they were well protected so when the sun was shining, it was very warm despite the cooler morning temperatures. Brian was well prepared for guests. Every switch in the house was labeled - no guessing involved and the book of local activities was very helpful. The one cooler day during the week, we headed to Gunstock for activities for the kids. Wish we had made reservations for the zipline - it was booked for hours. Next time! Hoping to get the family back next year - and we have requests from other family members who want to join us as they saw our pictures and heard our stories!"

  • Wonderful Vacation & Wonderful Owners

"This summer (2014) was our second time at the house. New Hampshire is beautiful; this house is fabulous. The yard is generous and well-maintained. View of mountains is magnificent. Last summer (2013), the house almost felt too big for us. This summer, we invited family, including my sister and brother-in-law and their children. My sister's family came with their dog. The space worked perfectly. It is an old house--the older portion of the house is very old (like 18th century-old!). The space is interesting--it does not have big, great and open rooms. Instead, it has a couple of large rooms and many small rooms. We found that the children enjoyed the small rooms--the room with the air hockey game, the room with the foosball game, and the small reading room off the master bathroom. There was space for all. Children, teens, adults, and dog. We all enjoyed being in the yar--the kids played constantly and the adults sat outside and read, talked and enjoyed teh beautiful grounds. There is no internet connection at the house (which was a welcome change even if some had withdrawal...); Smart phones with WIfi phones worked decently, and we loved the Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro public libraries (quiet, free internet, great to get work done when needed). Small public beach is 3 miles away (some of us ran there or did regular 3-4 mile runs on the streets of Tuftonboro). Beach has nice space for swimming (including lap swimming), a lifeguard until 5pm, covered eating area, and is not heavily populated. Pier 19 Grocer is across the street--Chester's Fried Chicken at the beach was a favorite! Nearby: Wolfeboro (beautiful), Moultonboro (we ate many good meals at The Village Kitchen on Rt 25 (free WIFI, open @6AM!)), nice hikes--Castle in Clouds (multiple), Red Hill; great ice cream (generous scoops!) @Bailey's Bubble (both locations) & Flurries (Meredith). The house is perfect for a group and great for children; it's not fancy and precious, but old, lived in & comfortable. As a mother of energetic children, I never worried that the kids would break anything. Lisa and Rick, the owners, are EXCEPTIONAL. They get customer service. Lisa is responsive and thoughtful. This summer, the dryer broke shortly after we arrived. Within hours, Rick had someone look at it and then, a few hours later, came to the house with a brand new, industrial-sized dryer. He removed the old one, installed the new one, and we never had another dryer problem! I highly recommend this house to anyone."

  • Perfection

"Our extended family, made up of six adults and two toddlers, spent a magical long weekend at this idyllic property in October. It was our first trip to Lake Winnipesaukee; and now we can't wait to return. Upon arrival at the property, we were overwhelmed with excitement and a total sense of relaxation. A guest could not ask for more in terms of the design and attention to detail, both inside and outside of the house. Over the course of the weekend, we lounged by the fire in the cozy living room; prepared and shared meals in the open kitchen & dining room; toured the lake; relaxed on the perfect front porch; introduced the babies to their first-ever s'mores in the incredible outdoor fire pit; admired the beautiful New England foliage and sunsets from the beach area; and explored the woods behind the house (even building our own teepee...see if you can find it on your next visit!). If you are seeking a rustic, quiet, relaxing getaway to recharge your family's batteries, without giving up any of the modern comforts that you love from home (i.e. fully appointed kitchen, strong wifi, great sound system, directv, etc.), then this property is where you want to go. The only down side is when it comes time to leave!"

  • Fabulous Fall Girls Getaway

"3 friends and I rented this charming little house for 5 days this past Oct. We came to see the fall color change and were not disappointed. Great location. Very private feel but not too far from the town of Meredith with shops and restaurants and grocery. House is very accommodating. Took a little while to get used to using bottled water for cooking/washing food, but all in all it was very relaxing and charming. We really enjoyed our wine and cheese afternoons on the patio overlooking the lake with gorgeous sunsets. We even got out on the kayaks one day. Great 'home base" for our trips apple picking, wine tasting, touring Castle in the Clouds, cruising the lake on the Mt. Washington. We cooked a lot in the well equipped kitchen and enjoyed feeling "at home" over our dinners, winding down from our days adventures. Great local produce from various farm stands. Owner, Sue, was a joy to work with - very prompt responses to any inquiries and helpful with tips on local info. Also provided linens for us "out of towners" for a nominal charge. Had a WONDERFUL time."
