"This place is what you imagine when you think of a lakeside retreat: a winding dirt road through the woods, a homey wood cabin with history in the walls, the sounds of the waves lapping on the shore outside your door. The owners were very accomodating about squeezing us in as a last minute replacement for a cancellation, and very friendly and helpful in our communications throughout. (Though they're so well-versed in renting this out, that there really isn't much need to get in touch once you're there.) You're well out of the way, but it's just a ten minute drive back to the heart of Wolfeboro village. There's a private, sandy crescent beach, with a wade out through a sandy cove, and water clear to the bottom even as you swim out to the platform. You're tucked in a nook midway up the eastern shore of the lake, with sun all afternoon and fantastic sunsets over the water. The kitchen is well supplied, and we cooked lunch and dinner on the grill almost every day. The family history is evident all around inside, with old pictures of the construction, knickknacks, driftwood discoveries and more peppered throughout the house; but you don't feel like an intruder, you feel like a welcome guest."

"We have rented many homes for our three generation family vacation. This thoughtfully appointed, well-maintained, inviting, spacious home tops the list. We made good use of the multiple spaces for relaxing and visiting, and appreciated the chef's kitchen, lovely landscaping, and inviting screen porch. The lake views are even more spectacular than the photos suggest and the quiet cove is perfect for cannon balls off the dock, swimming (even for 5 and 7 year olds!), and fishing. We spent many hours water skiing and tubing on the smooth uncrowded water just beyond Hen Island. Other pluses--quick boat ride to Meredith for dinner or ice cream, peaceful anchorage on the far side of Stonedam Island for swimming and fishing (the 13 year olds caught several 10" large mouth bass) and easy access to a wide range of hiking opportunities in the Kancamagus area. We are already hoping to rent this gracious home again! Thank you Cathy and Don for sharing your lovely home with us. Your pride of ownership is obvious."

"While we could only stay for a weekend, I loved this place. It was so easy to transport myself back 50 years to a time when my family would take summer vacations to lake resorts and cabins where we would lay on a pier, swim, fish, read and just relax. We kayaked and if we had more time having a boat or pontoon would have been great. The lake house is property is beautiful and town is quaint."
