"This place is what you imagine when you think of a lakeside retreat: a winding dirt road through the woods, a homey wood cabin with history in the walls, the sounds of the waves lapping on the shore outside your door. The owners were very accomodating about squeezing us in as a last minute replacement for a cancellation, and very friendly and helpful in our communications throughout. (Though they're so well-versed in renting this out, that there really isn't much need to get in touch once you're there.) You're well out of the way, but it's just a ten minute drive back to the heart of Wolfeboro village. There's a private, sandy crescent beach, with a wade out through a sandy cove, and water clear to the bottom even as you swim out to the platform. You're tucked in a nook midway up the eastern shore of the lake, with sun all afternoon and fantastic sunsets over the water. The kitchen is well supplied, and we cooked lunch and dinner on the grill almost every day. The family history is evident all around inside, with old pictures of the construction, knickknacks, driftwood discoveries and more peppered throughout the house; but you don't feel like an intruder, you feel like a welcome guest."

"We recently rented this house for a week. We enjoyed the house and the surroundings very much. The house had virtually everything you could think of to help make the trip enjoyable. Our kids and grand kids enjoyed the stay as well. The kayaks and the canoe were hits, as well as the fishing. It feels like you are away from everything but things are close if you need something."

"We stayed at The Sandbar in June of 2015 with our children and grandchildren. The location was unbeatable, the lake views breathtaking, the home gorgeous and well appointed but with a cozy family feeling. It was a vacation reunion that my family cherished to the point that everyone is trying to arrange time off together to do a repeat next year if this home is available.
Dave was a great host - always reachable and helpful !!!!"

"Just back from a very relaxing refreshing vacation with most of our family, 6 adults and 6 kids in their teens. We brought our canoe and kayaks and found them very easy to launch from the docks. One dock has deep enough water for diving. We cooked and ate outside almost every day and enjoyed the sound of the water lapping the shore. The property was very clean when we arrived, and we slept comfortably at night. Kids also biked and swam a lot. Wireless works best in the middle house. The only issue we found would be easy to fix - some of the screen doors need to be repaired/replaced. Otherwise, we were comfortable and had a lot of fun!
