  • Wonderful Get-a-way

"My husband, myself and our black lab, Morgan, rented this wonderful place for a week, the first week of September 2014. It’s always hard for us to get away from work so this was a real treat for us. The weather was beautiful, and the house was lovely. The kitchen had everything you could want. We ate most meals on the upper deck overlooking the lake...ahhhh. Listening to the loons across the lake was wonderful. There is a dock, stone stairs into the lake and a stone bulkhead which are great. But the best thing is the sandy beach. You will need water shoes as you do in most lakes, but the big rocks did not start until you are about 10-15 feet into the water. Our dog loved splashing in the shallow water. We used the kayaks every day and having the beach made it easy to get in and out versus using a dock. We brought floats and it was so relaxing to just float around in the water. And there are several TVs and high speed internet access (a must for us in case work called). Don't forget to visit the Calef country store and order their delicious sandwiches. The ice cream shop nearby was great, Morgan especially liked that."

  • Great destination for winter excursion

"We had a wonderful stay at the chalet this winter! The house is nicely situated on a quiet lake that is an easy drive to North Conway and ski resorts (King Pine, Attitash, Cranmore locally, and Wildcat a bit further). The owner was very responsive and provided easy to follow check-in instructions, and kept us up to date on details prior to our arrival. Even with a lot of snowfall over our stay, the roads were well cleared and access was easy. Inside, the chalet was well maintained, clean, and had plenty of room for our family of four. Our teenage kids were very happy to have their own private bedrooms. The single bathroom could be more of an issue for larger groups, but was fine for our family. The kitchen was well set up for preparing meals and we all enjoyed the cozy TV room and wood burning stove. WiFi access was also very nice to have. Overall the house was exactly what we hoped for for our stay. We'd love to come back in the summer and enjoy the lake and deck when it's warmer. We'd definitely recommend the chalet to couples and families looking for a getaway."

  • Had a great time

"My family had a wonderful week at this house. The house has many large windows with skylights. The owner was very responsive to emails and made sure we had all the information we needed for a wonderful stay. I recommend that you rent a boat to enjoy the beautiful lake and its many attractions. Plenty of room for all. We would definitely come back for another week."

  • Great place and Location!!

"This is my first time I have rented a vacation home for a week. I went with my girlfriend and invited my mother. First: Dave was an amazing guy. He would answer my questions within a day. He was patient and helpful seeing that I had a lot of them. He went out of his way to make sure we were prepared and made sure we had everything. We had to arrive a day later than normal and he was more than comfortbale with it. We arrived and the place was very clean. It was a great location with the huge yard for my dog to play in and to see the stars at night. We arrived and the grill was out of propane. Luckily the neightboors were nice and let us share theirs with them. I don't blame Dave for this since the propane was left on. He said if we wanted to fill it he would reimburse us. The kayaks were nice to use during the beautiful weather we had there. There is a schedule pre made with other neighbors so there were no problems. Beach was nice and quiet. Water felt amazing! Could go nice walk with the dog next to the beach at night. Great ice cream place walking distance. If you are looking for a lot of activities everything is about 30 minutes away. I was able to go golfing which was beautiful at Lochmere. I don't have any true "complaints" about this place. Would have been nice to not have neighbors, but we knew that before we reserved so once again not Dave's fault. So my only recommendation is if you are looking for complete seclusio. Probably not the best place BUt for jsut a geaway it was perfect. Good chance I will return in the future!!!"
