  • Just perfect

"I cannot say enough good things about The Coop. I was totally worn out and needed a "reset" week in a bucolic setting. This place was just perfect. A lot of attention to detail was put into the design and building of this wonderfully intimate building, and it envelops you in a restful atmosphere immediately. There is a kitchen that has all the utensils and appliances one could want, plus many extras such as spices. The electric heater is available when needed; I stayed in mid-September and needed it a few times. Wireless connectivity is spotty, so I would not recommend this for anyone who will need to use the Internet a lot. This wasn't a problem for me, however, since the whole point of choosing this place was to get away from it all. I liked the excuse to not respond to work emails! There are games and books in a large cupboard, and Phyllis and Mitch have assembled a 3-ring binder with information about local places to eat, shop, hike, and visit. One of the tremendous assets of the location is that it is at the intersection of two dirt roads that offer excellent walking hikes (I've heard these referred to as "wikes"). It was great to roll out of bed and not have to drive to another place to get in a good bit of exercise. 100 feet away from The Coop you have the choice of which road to explore, and you are off. Both roads follow old stone walls and are through mature forests. I did 1.5 hour walks every day and seeing the sun dappling down through the canopy of trees was soothing to the soul. Phyllis and Mitch were available as resources yet also let me have complete privacy. They are definitely one (two) of the selling points for this property. I invited my wife up to join me at one point, and we decided that we will be coming back to The Coop at some point."

  • Excellent property

"We truly enjoyed our stay at the Bluffs - plenty of room for all of us, really nice beach area that is well maintained by the homeowners association only 1/2 mile away with a golf cart to get us there. Everything was as advertised. The owners were especially attentive and genuinely cared that we enjoyed their property. Morning coffee on the deck watching the sun come up was truly wonderful!"

  • Fishing weekend

"My Brother in law rented the lake house for a fishing weekend with his two brothers and myself. We were able to use the canoe at the house and we brought one with us. This lake is the perfect size for both canoes and kayaks. What a great time. The house was very comfortable and offered all required amenities. Plenty of fish in the lake, bass, pickerel, perch and crappies. We did not catch any trout, but it was September and even though the lake is stocked was most likely "fished out" over the summer months. Great views from the deck and the available gas grill was put to work. I would recommend this lake house for families with children as there is plenty of space for everyone. Thanks for allowing us to rent your beautiful house on the lake."
