  • Perfect getaway

"Looking for a quiet place away from the crowds? Want to sit on a deck that overhangs the lake? Want a great sandy, shallow beach to swim? Want to listen to the call of the loons, watch a Bald Eagle survey the water for fish and kayak to your hearts content? This is it. This is a beautifully kept, well supplied and clean cottage. The bedrooms and bath are large, and there are many water toys to chose from. You can sit at the picnic table in the front, table on the patio off the living room, or (our favorite) the table on the deck on the lake front. On the 4th of July we sat 8 adults and one pack and play on the deck with room to spare. Next year we'll rent again with the additional building across the street for the third bedroom and bath so the kids can come too."

  • Beautiful Classic Lakeside Retreat

"My family of 12, including teens and a grandmom, recently spent a fantastic week at this classic Squam Lake camp. This was our first trip back to the lake in 16 years and the house and lake did not disappoint! The house came fully equipped with plenty of bedding, utensils, cookware and storage - including the largest frying pan I have ever seen! We had plenty of room to sprawl between the two buildings - a real plus when traveling with teenagers. The main room of the house is cozy yet feels very large due to the soaring wood ceilings. Our family had tons of fun on the lake and just as much fun in the evenings playing board games on the deck and looking through all the historic photos and mementos on display in the lodge. The dock and swim platform areas are in full sun all day, unlike other homes we looked into, allowing for plenty of swim time. We did rent a large pontoon boat in Little Squam and spend countless hours navigating the coves of the lake and we especially loved revisiting "jumping rock" in Rattlesnake Cove which included a visit by the ice cream boat! The last night of our trip was spent enjoying the camp's DVD of "On Golden Pond", which was something really special. All in all, a fantastic family trip. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a classic Squam Lake experience."

  • Pictures do not do it justice. A real gem

"House is bigger than pictures depict. Two full baths, large kitchen and great owners. We have rented three straight years and cannot wait to go back again next summer. You will not be disappointed. Good price too."

  • Wonderful!

"My husband and I spent a week in this lovely lake house on beautiful Lake Winona. The house is exactly as pictured. It was clean and comfortable. The lake is pristine. I was amazed how clean the water was. We were looking for peace and quiet and this home was just what we hoped for. Early morning looking out at the lake and hearing the loons was wonderful. We would occasionally see people paddling by in kayaks or canoes. Very quiet. Jet skis are not allowed on the lake and the few motor boats that did pass us on our canoeing adventures were very respectful. One night we were surprised to see a float plane go right past the house and land on the lake and a bit later seeing it take off! While this home is peacefully tucked on the lake, it is an easy drive to the area highlights. You can find everything you need right in Ashland but if for some crazy reason you really needed to go to walmart, it isn't very far. The owners provided all the information we needed and they were spot on with their restaurant recommendations. It was a fantastic week on Lake Winona and if possible we would definitely rent this home again."
