  • Perfect!

"We just returned home from our wonderful one week family vacation at Camp Westwood. As I sit here and look at the house I wish that I was still laying on the deck...sigh.To be honest,I was a bit concerned about our privacy with the owners carriage house so close to ours but Mark and Debbie were so nice and were never intrusive at all during our stay. The house was just exactly what we hoped it would be! It was large enough to accommodate all ten of us comfortably, clean, well stocked and we even loved the creeky floors in the upstairs...just charming! Our four Grandchildren loved the sandy bottom and shallow water to play and snorkel. Our ten year old Grandson told us that it was the best vacation that he's ever had..better than our Disney trip! haha Big thanks again to Mark and Debbie for allowing us to share their beautiful family lakefront home and for being so nice.We hope to perhaps come back again in a few years if you'll have us! • Highly Recommended For Families

"My family and I spent a week here and had all the comforts of home. We combined two families and had a range of ages from 2-50 and everyone enjoyed it. The lake itself was warm, clean and shallow enough for my 2 year old to enjoy it. You can walk out quite a ways before it starts to get deep. Our teens liked paddle boarding and floating on rafts tied to the bouy. There is no beach but the dock was great for hanging out and sitting by the water on. The bottom of the lake had soft sand which was so nice for walking around in the water. This was especially nice for my little one. There is also a fire pit outside which the kids loved making s'mores with and the adults enjoyed just as much. The house: The beds were comfy, the kitchen is beautiful with granite counter tops, wooden floors and an amazing view of the lake and sunset. You can tell the owner makes every effort to ensure his renters are happy. The garage is filled with things like rafts, a canoe, wind surfer, life jackets and other lake toys. The house is very well kept and spacious with an open concept. There were 10 of us and plenty of room for all of us. Having two bathrooms was very nice. The kids appreciated bunking up in the same room and having their own bathroom and T.V. (though we barely used the T.V.) There were even some toys in the closet. There is also a little cottage apart from the house with a double bed but, we didn't use it. The house is located on a very quiet dead end street. We scoped it out and think this has to be the street with the greatest views of the lake, mountains and sunset. Hope to go back!!"

  • Vacation Bargain

"My son, friend and I were pleasantly surprised on how nice this cottage was. The interior was exactly as the photos showed and the bedrooms were more than adequate. The wood stove kept us warm on those cool nights and dried us out after a rainy day of fishing. Our dinner meals were prepared on what looked like a new BBQ and the fully stocked kitchen with gas range had everything we needed to cook side dishes and breakfast. It was very relaxing to sit out on the screened in porch in the evening and look out over the lake. The dock was a bonus for tying up our canoe after fishing in the morning and not having to carry it back down for late afternoon fishing. If an afforable, very clean cottage set in a secluded, quiet location is what you're looking for then I highly recommend trying this one. I certainly will keep this in mind for future vacations."

  • Ossipee Lake Cottage - 23-30 Aug 2014

"My wife and I had a wonderfully relaxing week at the cottage. The weather was ideal and words can't describe the peace and tranquility we experienced sitting next to the shore where a really nice deck with a table and chairs are situated. This is especially true in the early morning when the loons are out on the lake. The owners live in their beautiful dream house next to the cottage and both properties are about 75 feet from the lake with a beautifully landscaped lawn leading down to the lake. The owners were very friendly and gracious and kindly permitted the use of their beach area to launch our canoe. The water was crystal clear and the temp around 78 degrees. I recommend that water shoes be used to swim from the cottage steps leading to the water as there are some rocks to navigate until reaching the sandy areas. The cottage is seasonal and very quaint with knotty pine panels and a beautiful fieldstone fireplace. There is a very nice dining area, a large living room, two small bedrooms and a nice porch that also has a table and chairs along with a washer and dryer. The cottage contains all of the amenities needed, i.e., cooking, linens, fans, large screen TV/DVD, books, games, CD player, etc. Also, there is a WiFy signal from the owners house with a fairly good signal strength. I even picked it up listening to music on my Kindle down on the deck next to the lake. Also recommend slippers or shoes walking around the cottage as the floor is made of stone. There is a convenience store/pizza and sub sandwiches about 5 minutes from the cottage. Otherwise, the nearest grocery store/state liquor store is about 15 minutes on Rt. 16. I highly recommend this property and would stay there again."
