"What a beautiful lake house! I was fortunate enough to spend my vacation at this adorable little cottage during peak fall foliage this year. What a charmer! Though I'll freely admit to not spending a lot of daytime hours there- there's SO MUCH to see in New England and so little time to get it all in, lol- it was the perfect place to come "home" to every night and enjoy the fire and a glass of wine. I loved waking up to the fog rolling across the lake, and the quiet! It was so peaceful there- wish I could have another week just for that!
The cottage is in a great location- central to a lot of the things I wanted to see. An hour outside of Salem, MA; three hours from Burlington, VT; maybe an hour and a half or so from Boston, MA. Mount Washington is doable, so is Portland, ME.
Everything I needed was provided in the cottage and I didn't have problems of any kind. One thing that I don't remember reading about, and didn't anticipate ahead of time, were the steps from the car landing down to the cottage, there are a lot of them! I was okay with it but if you have problems with stairs it's something to consider. I had a heavy piece of luggage I was using (3 weeks on the road) and I ended up not packing it down them and instead just grabbing a set of clothes each night as I returned to the cottage for the next day.
Overall HIGHLY recommend this place- when I return to New England I'd love to look into renting it again!"

"Long overdue review here-We SO enjoyed our stay in this gorgeous, well-appointed craftsman home....what a treat to be in a place that was so well-built and has been so thoughtfully cared for...the setting is gorgeous (trees, porch, big steps, lawn). The beds and bedrooms were all super comfortable, the kitchen was a pleasure to make food in, the living room was inviting....the "attic" is clean and well-finished and was a great place for all ages on a rainy day. The boats and bikes and floats we used all worked! It's obvious you truly care for this home. It was a great place for everyone in our family, from my 88-year old mom to my 1 year old niece. We hope to come back again. Thank you for doing such a nice job keeping such a beautiful home, and for allowing others to be there."

"We recently rented this house for a week. We enjoyed the house and the surroundings very much. The house had virtually everything you could think of to help make the trip enjoyable. Our kids and grand kids enjoyed the stay as well. The kayaks and the canoe were hits, as well as the fishing. It feels like you are away from everything but things are close if you need something."

"My family and I stayed in Jane's and Bev's cottage for a nice family getaway. The cottage was so cozy and had a nice fire pit for late night smores and conversations. Super short walk to the private dock with a shallow lake that my 3 year old enjoyed. I would definitely recommend staying here and Jane and Bev are auper great and accommodating.
