"If you are a true Lake Connoisseur, put this on your Top 10 List. Swimmer's & paddler's paradise. Quiet. Clean. Loons! Stars! Beautifully equipped kitchen. Totally unobstrusive but lovely young couple owner/landlord and well-behaved & charming old dog. For this reviewer, the best part is the water: the location on a tiny point of land leaves you surrounded on 3 sides by the soft, glimmering, shimmering, inviting water of Lake Skatatukee (pronounced with emphasis on the "-ta"). If relaxation is what you seek, if swimming, canoeing and reading are your idea of a good time, this is the place for you! (Bring your mountain bike - many roads in the area are dirt & gravel). (ps: bedroom mattress is quite soft).""

  • Great Place!

"This cabin is clean and cozy. The area is very private and quiet, just what I wanted. My family and I had a great time. The screened porch was wonderful and we spent a lot of time enjoying it. The water was clean and clear. We loved having our very own island with swing and TP's. The island has blueberry bushes all over, what a great surprise! The family enjoyed the rowboat and swimming. If you need a restful and peaceful vacation, this is the place for you! Can't wait to go back!"

  • Wonderful family retreat

"Four winds was perfect for our annual summer family vacation with grandparents, parents, and five children ages 6 to 12. We all enjoyed the pool and the fantastic views. The home is arranged so the whole group can congregate or so that anyone wishing some time away from the whole group can find a place to retreat to. We took several hikes, one of them easy enough for the older folks, spent time playing ball outside, enjoying the pool, playing some of the many games available, watching movies, admiring the beautiful surroundings, making use of the game room, and relaxing. We hope to visit it again, and highly recommend this place."

  • Family Retreat

"What can I say, but this was the most memorable trip I have ever taken with my family... EVER. It was more than I expected and there was never a dull moment during our week long stay. My wife and I have 4 children and 2 dogs and the home was as accommodating as you could expect. Paul and Anne really go out of there way to ensure that there guests feel right at home, from the little nick-nacks you see around the house to the pictures on the walls, the home has a very warm and inviting feeling. As far as entertainment, there was canoeing, paddle boating, kayaking, fishing, roasting marshmallows and hot dogs down by the fire-pit, and enjoying the gorgeous views from the dock while the kids swam. There were also plenty of games to play and the rec room with the pool table and ping pong table was always there to enjoy. When the evening came, my wife and I took a hot tubs under the star filled blanket of the night, while the kids relaxed watching there favorite shows on the television. All in all, there was more to do than I even got a chance to do, so we are looking very forward to exploring those things next time around. Thanks Paul and Anne, you guys really made our time special and we look forward to returning."

Keene Travel Tips

Stay in Keene Vacation Rentals when Visiting Keene State College

Staying in Keene vacation rentals is a way to visit the liberal arts Keene State College affordably. Whether you are in the area for a graduation or to watch a sporting event or performance, staying in a rental is often easier on your wallet than staying in a hotel. It's also better on your psyche since you have room to stretch, relax, and enjoy your visit to the New Hampshire area.

Stay With Groups in Keene Lodging

Keene Lodging offers multiple bedrooms, sleeping up to 15 guests. This makes it a great place for family reunions and get-togethers for friends. Enjoy the privacy of large acreage, which includes fields and forests. Don't worry about the weather. If it's too hot outside, just slip into an in-ground lit pool. If it's cold outside, relax in the hot tub or in front of a fireplace. Play some pool or ping-pong with the others in your group, or hold a cook-off in your fully equipped kitchen. The spacious accommodations are perfect for weddings and large parties. There is entertainment for everyone; Historic Braggleboro is only a short distance away, and there are many water activities found at Lake Spofford only a few minutes away.

Enjoy Sports, Festivals, and the Arts When Staying in Monadnock Region Vacation Homes

Monadnock Region vacation homes are the perfect places to stay when you decide to attend some of the area's most popular events. Whether you plan to listen to the Keene Jazz Orchestra or Pop Choir, or if you plan to attend a theater performance, staying close to town makes the event even more enjoyable. Don't forget to plan your visit around the Pumpkin Festival, which has (several times) set the world record for having the largest simultaneous number of jack-o'-lanterns on display.
