"For the fifth consecutive summer, we have rented Tranquility Lodge for our family (Lauren and I are the grandparents, our two daughters and spouses, and their two children each for a total of 10). One family takes the lower floor, we are on the ground floor, and the other family is in the loft. We come back because the Lodge loves up to its name and is a recreational retreat for the whole family. We use the beach at Crystal Lake, the kayaks and canoe on Long Pond, and the lawn and gardens for games, campfires, and relaxation. The owner is totally responsible and trustworthy. For example, this year we had a small hitch with the water system and the owner appeared within hours to fix it. Our family has come to regard Tranquility Lodge as our summer home for a week. Our grandkids still love Storyland, and we also do blueberry picking, hikes up Foss Mountain, and in August, great viewing of the meteor showers! The lodge is well-appointed and served our family of 10 very well with all the kitchen appliances, etc. that we needed to move right in and set up housekeeping. It is our plan to continue this tradition as long as the families can travel together."

"Once again we had a lovely stay at the Notch! Enjoyed the improvements - the kayaks, new lounge chairs, new driveway, new livingroom furniture, the new grill and more - but were happy to see that the rustic feel of the cottage remains intact! We saw the loon family and a bald eagle, along with lots of other birds, all while sitting on the dock soaking up the sun. We enjoyed our coffee out there in the morning, and our wine out there in the evening, while we cooked our supper on the grill. We actually welcome the fact that there is no cell service - it enhances the peace and quiet - and we make it a point to go out once a day to check our phones and check in with our grown children! We had a lovely dinner at Alexander's Pub in Bradford VT - also while you are there check out Starcat Books on Main St. The other place we never miss is Newbury Village Store in Newbury VT - great place to get a cup of coffee and browse through their groceries, wine and gifts, as well as visiting their little cafe. All in all, a perfect vacation spot for putting your life back in perspective!!!"

"The layout was great. 2 kids got their own bedrooms on one end, then there's a nice kitchen and big living area. Master bedroom is on other end. We let our kids run up and down the hill outside the patio door to burn off energy. View was nice. There was plenty of dish soap and laundry detergent. Bring your own all purpose cleaner if you want to clean the kitchen yourself mid stay; it was clean when we got there. I would also bring extra kitchen towels. We couldn't find proper grill tools but we managed. Kitchen has everything you need for cooking. Overall we recommend it as a good place to stay. Beds were fine. Location is great for access to mountains, trains, and santa's village was a 25 minute drive. It was exactly what we expected: modern condo in good but not brand new condition."
