  • Best Vacation Ever!

"Our children spent months eagerly looking at the online pictures of our "New Hampshire house," and we couldn't have chosen a better chalet for our week-long vacation. The pictures are an exact representation of the house, which had more than enough space for two adults and two children (ages 8 and 10). They were thrilled to each have a top bunk, although they often wound up sharing the lower double bunk. The queen size bed in the master bedroom was so comfortable that we slept wonderfully. Our worries about the lack of air conditioning were unfounded - the lower level was comfortably cool, and opening the sliders to both decks provided a wonderful cross-breeze. The kitchen is outfitted with every tool and gadget imaginable; we cooked breakfast every morning, and although the area has many incredible restaurants, our favorite meals were sandwiches from Community Market, eaten on the back deck. The washer and dryer are tucked behind the kitchen table, and doing laundry was simple and convenient. We made great use of the fire pit each night and were able to truly relax. It was a one minute walk to the lake, and we loved hosing our feet off in the carport before entering the house and hanging our water shoes on the outdoor hooks. We had shopped ahead and traveled with our food, snacks, and toiletries, but will come empty-handed next time since Dollar Tree, Shaw's, and Wal-Mart are 10-15 minutes down the road. The house is in the perfect location - at the base of Route 16 into Conway, at the end of the Kankamangus Highway, 15 minutes into Fryeburg, Maine, and close to the Lakes region. We would highly recommend this chalet to anyone traveling to the area, and can't wait to return!"

  • FantasticSummer Family Vacation

"This is our second stay at the property and again, we had a wonderful time. The home comes equipt with whatever you need to have a great vacation. There were ten of us and plenty of room to eat together and relax together. This time around we really utilized the community center which is a part of the rental and we loved it. The kids and adults had a ball and we cannot wait until our next trip up north!"

  • Perfectly stunning!

"What a glorious time we had at this exceptional mountain house! Perched atop a very steep unpaved driveway ( you do need a 4WD vehicle, or you can walk up and down it like we did-- if you don't enjoy exercise, bring the truck!) this home boasts the most magnificent views-- almost indescribable! Each evening, the clouds settle in to completely obscure the mountain range, then, as the sun rises, the clouds gradually lift, revealing the mountains one by one-- it's like your own magic show. We loved the location near Lancaster, an adorable town with lots of amenities but not touristy. Recommend the delicious food at the Moonbeam Cafe in town, we went there for our one meal out. The home itself wants for nothing. It has a massive wrap around porch with adirondack chairs -- I spent one whole day of our trip on that porch just watching the mountains and meditating. The decor is cozy and mountain-themed, and the owners have thought of everything you might need-- rooms are stocked with all your kitchen amenities, laundry, extra blankets, etc. Lou, the property's builder and caretaker, is lovely and so helpful. A huge storm downed several trees on the property while we were there, leaving us without power, and Lou was at the house within minutes. Fortunately, since the house was so well equipped with candles, flashlights and kerosene lanterns, we didn't mind the outage a bit. A candlelit night in the mountains is our idea of a good time. We were just a couple and our toddler on this trip, but the house could have accommodated several more people without feeling cramped, because there are so many different hangout areas. A portion of the wrap around porch is screened in with doors that lock on each side, so our toddler was able to blissfully set up camp out there with his toys while we cooked meals, etc. Others might care about little tiny things like super slow internet, but we weren't there to be on the computer, so it didn't really faze us and we just used our smartphones when we needed to look up a local park or place we wanted to go. There are plenty of resident carpenter ants, but again, we only had to look beneath the kitchen sink to find extra ant traps, and once we put them out, no more ant parade. This place is absolutely fabulous if you want to have a home base for your NH adventures, or if you never even leave the porch. Blissful. Thanks to Kevin and Lou for taking such thoughtful care of this beautiful home. We can't wait to return."

  • Girls Weekend in Conway

"My friends and I have spent the last 12 (I think) years renting this absolutely amazing home or a long girls weekend!! The 12 years part should be enough said - but I'll say more. Our hosts are exceptional people and we thank them, as always, for allowing us to spend another year in their beautiful home. Every year when we walk through the door we feel like we've come home. Every year there is always a nice little change here or there and we love discovering them. This year was tremendous. We arrived to a truly gorgeous new kitchen-only to find out they had done it all themselves. Amazing!! They made beautiful changes while keeping with the integrity of the original design. They take great pride in this lovely piece of heaven and we do too as we tell of our weekend tales!! Even though it sits on Main St. once the front door closes the outside world is kept at bay and it feels like you are in a world of your own. Nothing but 5 stars for our hosts and their lovely home. Thanks again!!!"
