  • Just perfect

"I cannot say enough good things about The Coop. I was totally worn out and needed a "reset" week in a bucolic setting. This place was just perfect. A lot of attention to detail was put into the design and building of this wonderfully intimate building, and it envelops you in a restful atmosphere immediately. There is a kitchen that has all the utensils and appliances one could want, plus many extras such as spices. The electric heater is available when needed; I stayed in mid-September and needed it a few times. Wireless connectivity is spotty, so I would not recommend this for anyone who will need to use the Internet a lot. This wasn't a problem for me, however, since the whole point of choosing this place was to get away from it all. I liked the excuse to not respond to work emails! There are games and books in a large cupboard, and Phyllis and Mitch have assembled a 3-ring binder with information about local places to eat, shop, hike, and visit. One of the tremendous assets of the location is that it is at the intersection of two dirt roads that offer excellent walking hikes (I've heard these referred to as "wikes"). It was great to roll out of bed and not have to drive to another place to get in a good bit of exercise. 100 feet away from The Coop you have the choice of which road to explore, and you are off. Both roads follow old stone walls and are through mature forests. I did 1.5 hour walks every day and seeing the sun dappling down through the canopy of trees was soothing to the soul. Phyllis and Mitch were available as resources yet also let me have complete privacy. They are definitely one (two) of the selling points for this property. I invited my wife up to join me at one point, and we decided that we will be coming back to The Coop at some point."

  • Perfect Hideout

"This was a perfect retreat for our family to enjoy some quality fireside time together assembling a puzzle after a cold, exhausting day on the slopes. What is great is the balance of a cabin in the woods retreat while being just minutes to town and ski areas. The home is neat, warm and inviting and we look forward to the opportunity of visiting again next year !"

  • Pre-Thanksgiving Weekend Family Gathering

"We had such a wonderful weekend at this lake house. We decided to host an early Thanksgiving Weekend so our children would be free to visit the rest of their families on Thanksgiving Day. We were a family of 10 ranging from 2-59. The beds were so comfortable and there was no shortage of blankets and pillows. The kitchen was completely stocked for a complete turkey dinner as well as all the family size meals prepared over the course of the weekend. From large soup pots, to casserole dishes, platters, you name it, it was there. Paul and Anne event took the time to make sure the table was set up for 10 and plug in a second refrigerator located downstairs. We enjoyed the hot tub, the kids rode bikes, skimmed rocks on the lake, played ping pong and pool. We were fortunate to hit over 50 degrees on Sunday and the big kids took the paddle boat out on the lake. We were so happy to have that wood stove since Friday and Saturday were extremely cold (18 degrees one night) We hope to make this a yearly tradition as everyone truly enjoyed being together for a whole weekend instead of a few hours on Thanksgiving Day!"

  • Carolyn & Bob

"This condo is the BEST! The view of the lake, mountains,,trees, etc. are an eye view seat! My husband kept calling this condo, on GOLDEN POND. It is well maintained, nice décor, comfortable beds, couch, chairs & had everything that you could ask for. We would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to rely on a clean place to stay with lots of fun ahead of them. Without any hesitation, go for this one ! ! !"
