  • Wonderful week-long stay in late August...

"Beautiful, quiet, secluded, wonderfully comfortable and well-equipped off-the-grid home. Perfect place to get away and kick back...or be as active as you want! We swam, paddled, fished, hiked, biked and had a great time exploring the lake, nearby rivers, and area parks. Couldn't have asked for a better place or more gracious property owners/caretakers."

  • Cozy and comfortable.

"We had a wonderful time staying at this cottage. It's small but cozy and comfortable for a family. The cottage is right on the water with a big deck and a beautiful view. The owners were great to work with and are very accommodating. The location is convenient to many attractions and the price was reasonable. The negatives are: Parking is very minimal. There is a very steep and uneven set of stairs down to the cottage that are borderline treacherous so I would not recommend this rental for the elderly or handicapped. Overall we were very pleased and would recommend the rental. We would stay again."

  • Great Vacation Spot for Active Families

"Just returned from a wonderful week at this lovely property! We are a family of five, but during the second half of the week we had a group of ten, including six older teens and twenty-somethings. The house handled the group extremely well. It is even more spacious than it appears on-line. The kids enjoyed having the lower level to themselves, but there was plenty of room for all on the main level. The house is very clean, nicely decorated, and well-stocked with just about anything and everything one would need...linens/towels, cookware/utensils, spices, games, life jackets, etc. As other reviewers mentioned, the owner was very pleasant to deal with. He stopped by to meet us and offered suggestions such as local activities, places to eat, and good fishing spots. There is plenty to do here for "kids" of all ages. The aqua jump and kayaks were a hit with our group. There is also hiking nearby, as well as a variety of activities at Gunstock Mountain. We had a boat, so spent a lot of time on the water. The house is located in a peaceful cove, so it's also a great spot for those who just want to sit outside on the deck and relax or read a book. I highly recommend it for families/groups of all ages, and I would definitely consider booking another vacation here!"
