  • Very Nice Place

"My son in Law and I, planned a trip to the Super Bowl. We found Mike's apartment on VRBO, It was a great choice. Nice and clean, close to food and transportation. It was nice to see parts of Jersey on our walks to and from the train. The PATH train got us to NY and the Game. We stayed out till 3am two of the nights, felt very safe on our walk from the Train Station. I recommend this apartment to all. Thanks Mike, for your hospitality."

  • Why stay anywhere else?

"Adrienne is the best hostess ever! The apartment is clean and an extremely easy commute to NYC. The people in the neighborhood are very friendly, there is a convenience store one block up the street who will cook you an awesome meal. We definitely will stay here again!!"

  • Wonderful visit

"I decided to take the time to write this review because of the unwarranted negative reviews recently posted on this property. This home is situated in a quiet, very convenient neighborhood just minutes away from NYC. There is a playground, tennis courts, churches and quaint downtown all within a few block walking distance. We stayed here with our family including an 11, 3 and 1 year old and had a delightful time. The interior of the house is pristine. It is true that the bed arrangements could be better identified. One couple did move the twin beds together to make a king sleeping arrangement. Peter is still doing enhancements to the house so yes, the shower in the master bath needs a door which he will be adding soon. However, these small inconveniences did nothing to detract from our week. The master queen bed is very comfortable. The bathrooms are small but well-appointed. I am guessing the reviewers complaining have, perhaps, never been to the NYC area. Space is at a premium and to find a house with a large back yard, grill, fire pit and deck is amazing. We spent many wonderful hours tossing the football and playing with our grandchildren. We entertained friends with no difficulties cooking meals. We did not come to watch TV so the TV being in the kitchen was not an issue. And Peter is a gracious host who genuinely wants his guests to have a wonderful time. Oh, did I mention you can get just about anywhere you need to in less than 30 minutes? Moments away from the Garden State, NJ Turnpike and smaller highways make this spot unbelievably convenient. Travelers need to remember their own homes are not perfect. This is a great house and a great value. We will likely return! Thank you Peter for everything. PS: I panicked when I saw the review about the skunk. However, despite NJ and NYC suffering from a skunk problem, we never saw or smelled one during our visit. Something may stink I think it may be the person who wrote that review."

Gateway Region Travel Tips

Reasons to Choose Gateway Vacation Rentals

The Gateway region of New Jersey covers the friendly towns and communities of Edgewater, Hoboken, Jersey City, Maplewood and Millburn among others. Most visitors choose to stay in the Gateway area in order to visit New York City, just across the Upper Bay. Choosing a vacation home within 15 minutes of the Big Apple means visitors can enjoy all the sights without the big price tag of staying in Manhattan itself. The towns in the Gateway region have numerous art galleries, shopping malls, great restaurants and museums. They also have excellent transportation links including the PATH train to New York City and ferries to Ellis Island and Liberty Island.

Hotels in New York City can be very pricey, particularly for a family but vacation rentals in the nearby Gateway region are very affordable. Renting a vacation home or apartment gives you a quiet place to return to at the end of each day and relax in comfortable surroundings. Being just 15 minutes from the city allows you easy access to all the city sights from the Gateway region. Enjoy the freedom and space of your own place, with as many bedrooms as you choose. With several TVs and other amenities, the whole family can do as they please. Dining at home can also save money compared to eating out three times a day in NYC. With a well-equipped kitchen and full-size appliances, catering for the family is easy and convenient. Choose a rental home that is within walking distance of the train and avoid the expense and hassle of having a rental car too.
